My AR blog does consist of mostly listing videos yet from time-to-time my YouTube/GoPro hobby makes a showing. So let's begin this video's story.Joy and I took a trip to Roseburg Or to visit my family over Father's Day weekend. We enjoyed fun conversation over great food and cold drinks while taking in the scenary of my Aunt's new home out on Paradise Ln. From the mountain top, the Roseburg Valley could shined in the distance, the night sky was brillant with sparkingly diamonds, and luckily I had time to bring some GoPro gear. If I'd known there were be more to film, like the night sky, then I'd packed more than the drone and Hero 6. Bend Oregon Housing Trends Ever since coming out of the recession, we have written about Bend's lack of housing. Before the recession, Bend was known as the sixth fastest growing city in the United States with a population over 50,000. During the housing boom of the mid 2000s, speculative building occurred all over the city, but we rarely discussed lack of inventory. People who wanted a home could purchase one, although many bought through easy credit which ended up facilitating the housing meltdown of the late 2000s. Once the crash happened, home values fell nearly to half of what they had been. Bend is back. Home values have escalated to pre-recession prices and are now creeping higher. While reviewing old film, I came across a half completed project of Roseburg's Festival of Lights at Riverforks Park. Instead of making a GoPro style video, I chose to keep it in its longer formatt as it flowed better. At just over 17 minutes, the video goes throuugh the whole park as we followed others enjoying the displays.This video was my first attempt at filming in 4k, phone 4k for that matter. Well enjoy the drive around Riverforks park. Cheers!

Earlier this month, Mickie, Joy, the kids, and myself took a trip to Roseburg Oregon (pretty much where my mom's family grew up) fun some Easter fun. We did the egg hunt at the Court House and it gave me the idea to make a video of the area. My Aunt's salon made an appear which is located in the Douglas County Bank building in downtown Roseburg. The terraced mountain is called Mt. Nebo. Other highlights are the fish ladder at the beginning, the Georgia Pacific building, the South Umpqua River, train at Stewart Park, and the Douglas County Court House. Enjoy the video.

On Thanksgiving Day, my sister, JoAnne, lost her husband - and Douglas County, indeed all of Oregon, lost one of it's most prominent citizens. Donald R. Johnson was a lumberman.....what we in the Northwest call someone who owns a sawmill.  Don owned six....(plus a laminated beam plant and a couple of co-generation electric power plants).
