Heron Go Bragh! In West Linn Oregon Since the unvailing of the new Steel Heron last October at Fields Bridge Park in West Linn, I've noticed that folks have taken to "stylin" him up for the holidays. It does put a smile to my face when I pass this new addition to West Linn's public art project noting the new St. Patrick's Day necklace that's been strung over the green beads left from Mardi Gras. The steel Heron was created out of mostly recycled materials such as BBQ grills and rebar by sculpter Ben Dye and is the first of hopefully many public art projects that's been funded through the city's Percent-For-Art-Policy. This program is sponsored by the Clackamas County Art Alliance and to me is just a great way to add beauty to the City Of West Linn.. Keep em coming!
