Filling Up With FUEL New Jersey and Oregon do not allow people to pump their own gas. These states will ticket people that break the law and I have heard that fines can be $1,000. I suppose you should just relax and let the professionals do it. Back in 1951 the law was passed restricting people from pumping fuel at service stations. Historically all gas stations were full service and California was one of the pioneer states that opened self serve gas stations in 1947. This became popular across the country except in Oregon and New Jersey where claims are that it's safer and jobs are created with the gas pumping law. New Jersey passed the law in 1949 because pumping gas is dangerous. in the interest in public safety. Motorcyclists have been able to pump their own fuel since new law was p...

Portland Haunted Houses   This is the time of year that folks start to pull out the holiday bins of decorations down from the rafters.    My children would not let me sleep right until I carried all the stuff to the edge of our garage. We lifted the lids off bins as if they were sealed tombs and the scary decorations emerged.    We spent hours hanging fun for everyone. They even talked me into doing the spider webs from hedge to hedge. The neighbors have accepted this with positive comments and thumbs up from many people.   I think we will be taking everything down on Saturday provided the weather's not horrible preventing us from packing the bins of SPIRIT HALLOWEEN away for another year.   Please send me your pictures and I will share them on our BLOG if you like.   LAKEOSWEGOVIEW.COM...

Everyone knows by this point...April 22, 2014 is Earth Day. We simply wanted to acknowledge the day and spread the word that every single day is worth protecting the environment. Cooper Jacobs Real Estate makes a daily effort to spend less and save more. We recycle paper and plastic at our Seattle and Portland offices. All the printer cartridges are taken to the proper facilities and disposed of or recycled. We tend to walk instead of drive to the cafe for our cup of coffee courage in the morning. We walk to lunch if we can take a little longer away from the office and relax. The Cooper Jacobs Real Estate Services Realtors BLOG about community events such as Farmers Markets and Art Gatherings. These gatherings promote walking and buying local merchandise that requires less trucking and...

Classis car owners want to protect their investment from the elements and most folks in living in the Pacific Northwest appreciate pulling into a garage in order to unload the groceries from the automobile. Garage space is coveted in many of Portland's neighborhoods. Homes in Hillside, a neighborhood of Portland, demand a premium price for parking space on the property and can make or break a buyers decision to purchase based on garage space. Lake Oswego homes and the suburb of Beaverton have so many classic and expensive luxury cars. They need to be parked out of the rain & cold. In other parts of the World where parking cars comes with a premium price, garage space is being designed into the structure of the building. In Sunny Isles Beach, Florida we hear that in 2015 the Porsch...

Check out the current listings in Dunthorpe Courtesy Cooper Jacobs Real Estate Located immediately South of Portland, OR city limits is the prosperous suburb of Dunthorpe. This unincorporated suburban area is a short commute to Oregon's financial district and dedicated to residential development. A very nice area to live for sure. An interesting fact is that Dunthorpe and Oswego Lake are connected in history. The Oregon Iron & Steel Company SOLD 215 acres to William M. Ladd in 1916 and he proceeded to develop Dunthorpe. The neighborhood remains home to some of the most impressive estates Portland has to offer. Historically, Lake Oswego and the Oswego Lake were developed by the Oregon Iron & Steel Company to become the Pittsburgh of the West. Three hundred plus workers would smelt iron o...
