Nothing starts the New Year off right more than good food.  And I enjoyed my day having Dim Sum in Chinatown, located in Old Town Portland. And after writing my post about Hyper-Local is Everywhere You Go I forgot to bring my camera!  My son's cell phone sufficed. We choose a wonderful restaurant Fong Chong located on the corner of NW 4th and Everett. What makes Fong Chong so much fun is their Dim Sum carts that wheel by. Dim sum is a Cantonese term for a type of Chinese dish that involves small individual portions of food, usually served in a small steamer basket or on a small plate.  Dim Sum is served all day at Fong Chong's.  They do have a menu, and traditiional meals can be ordered.  This is true a'la carte dining . . . the carts roll past and each plate contains 2 or 3 DELICIOUS l... 01/02/2011
