Argentina, Chile and Australia are good values since their governments are subsidizing their wine exports. Spain is doing it as well. Because of this many producers are a good value. Jadot is a huge negociant and their wines span all of Burgundy but are not necessarily considered the best producers of these areas (but still very good). Banfi is also huge and their wines can vary in price - Banfi was the winery that cloned the Brunello varietal in the late 1800s (thus creating Brunello Di Montalcino) - for good value look for Italian wines out of Umbria and Marches areas. Chateau St. Michelle of Washington is also good -they are the oldest winery in the state.
