Vietnam Veterans Memorial Is Coming To Grants Pass, Oregon   This traveling, scaled down copy of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is over 300 feet long. A good friend of mine, Wes Carey, produced a documentary on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial  called "Letters to the Wall," and I highly recommend it.  If you can't find this DVD, contact:  www.GallopingPictures.com.  It brought tears to my eyes. Please come to Grants Pass to visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.  It will be here from Tuesday, April 20th, until Sunday, April 25th at the beautiful Riverside Park. Remember, our Vietnam Veterans never received the gratitude they deserved because of the prevailing political climate at the time. They deserved better.  They still do.  "Lest We Forget."

The British are Coming... The British are Coming... to Grants Pass Oregon!  There is a really quaint store, called Home Economics, on H Street in downtown Grants Pass Oregon that is featuring some pretty cool British designs.  Proprietor, DeWayne Lumpkin, is basking in recent notoriety for showcasing vintage British transfer route bus signs and transforming the trendy designs onto fabrics at his Grants Pass Oregonstore.  The "small town store with big city style" was recently featured in Country Living Magazine as "prop stylists" for a Rogue Creamery article in the food section.  The Grants Pass Oregon store touts "something for everyone - traditional with a twist - sizzling style at prices that don't burn budgets."  Home Economicsoffers British transfer route bus sign designs (taken di...

Our Service Stinks, But We Work Cheap! Would you go to a business with this type of ad?  Of course you wouldn't.  But, isn't this what a lot of businesses deliver? I was recently reminded of a statement that I once read was discovered on a papyrus found in the tomb of Tutankhamen.  It said, "Good service is not hard to give, it is merely hard to get." We in the businesses associated with real estate have a sales oriented attitude toward service, which gives us an advantage when it comes to customer service.  Knowing that if we give poor service to one customer the word will get around, and our future business will be affected. According to Joe Girard (Guiness Book of world records "Greatest Car Salesman"), "everyone has a sphere of influence of 250 people."  Joe attained these figures f...

Coyote Wetlands At Golden, Oregon For a fun outing and casual exercise, Coyote Wetlands At Golden, Oregon is the answer. This historic area was heavily mined in the 1850's, and the town of Golden and Coyote Wetlands have gone through a transformation. Water from Coyote Creek was used to hydraulically mine the entire valley below the ghost town of Golden. The miners are gone now, except the claims that still exist. Some claims such as this one are still actively worked, and most every bit of creek has a claim on it. There is a lot of evidence throughout the entire valley of having been mined hydraulically.  Huge tailing piles are slowly being reclaimed by various trees and shrubs. You can now walk through Coyote Wetlands through a beautiful valley filled with clear ponds and running wate...

HAFA's A Lot Better Than The Old Whole I just concluded my second webinar on the new HAFA program.  When I first heard "HAFA," my first thought was, another government "half a program." Studying HAFA (Home Affordable Foreclosure Alternatives), I think this is the plan that can drastically reduce the foreclosure rate. We know that a short sale is the best solution for a homeowner who can no longer afford to retain ownership of a home.  Until now however, short sales have been anything but short.  Selling short often had taken way too long. RE/MAX CEO, Bob Liniger, has been working tirelessly for solutions to this crisis. The HAFA program has among its' positives a few key points; processes are being streamlined, and communication will be "two way" and quick! For participating lenders, pr...
