My Journey - Straight Up - Tuseday - We Are Off To Assisi Yoga is the first thing on our daily agenda ..... today was much easier. The sun was warm so we took our writing outside ..... such an inspiring place to write. We took taxis to Assisi today, they dropped us off at the top end so we only had to walk downhill ..... no hill climbing for us today, and picked us up at the Basilica. Such an amazing town ..... built on the side of the hill centuries ago. As we followed the narrow shop lined streets towards the church we passed hundreds of little shops and cafés, and yes, we did stop at a sided walk cafe for some lemon and gelato, such a treat. My Journey - Straight Up - Monday   Monday morning we are up with the sun ..... except that it rises on the other side of the mountain, so I did not get to see it's grand debut in this majestic place. Yoga starts at 7 and we stay silent until we begin our writing practice at 10 am. yoga was great, one and a half hours of relaxation. My body was twisted in many new directions ..... stretched, turned and bent as it has not been in years ..... some times age does catch up.   Breakfast is delisioso ..... as are all the meals, home cooked with local produce.   Writing is always interesting and a bit challenging, as we stretch our skills and fill up the pages. My Journey - Straight Up   We keep driving straight up ..... the driver beeps his horn on every curve...I'd hate to maneuver these roads with our Canadian winters, they do get snow in this part of Italy, but it can't amount to much. The driver announces it is straight up the mountain for the next 5 kilometers ..... it was!     The resort sits on the side of the mountain ..... incredible views all around. Uxbridge Real Estate Market Snapshot - Week Ending Sunday April 14h, 2014 Currently there are 112 active properties on the MLS® system.  Listing inventory is beginning to grow providing potential buyers with more homes to view prior to buying. We are still seeing multiple offers on some properties that are for sale however sellers can expect this to change as the listing inventory grows. From Jan. 2011 to Dec. 2013 Uxbridge averaged 126 properties for sale at months end. This Average was maintained over the last 12 months but dropped to 110 over the last 6 months and 99 at the end of last month. Where Do We Go From Here?   The first quarter of 2014 produced some unusual trends for the Uxbridge real estate market. In looking at 3 of the last four years we see that sales along with new listings and active listings all were on an upward trend in the first quarter. To the contrary this past quarter we saw sales follow the trend but the number of new listings and active listings declined.  While the number of sales in Uxbridge in any given month is generally not large enough to predict accurate trends in values we do know that supply and demand can effect the price. If the current trend for sales continues to climb and the current trend for listings continues shrinking we can expect prices to rise even more. Uxbridge Real Estate Market Snapshot - Month End March 2014 Market activity may have been hampered a bit by the continuing winter blasts as some home owners that are thinking of selling may have been holding out for a little more spring like weather . Sales, while climbing month over month from February, remained the same as they were in March of last year. Despite this levelling off for the number of sales Year to Date, sales to date are still up by 8.7% to the end of March over last year.   Meanwhile the number of prospective buyers beginning their search on our web sites has climbed substantially over last year. Uxbridge Real Estate Market Snapshot - Month End February 2014 Sales continue to climb and are up by 15.79% to the end of February over the same period last year.. Market Activity is really picking up as we enter the early phase of our spring market. It's worth noting that our potential buyer activity on our web site was up 2.09% from last year for the month of February. While there were 108 active listings at month end there are still a large number of new homes included in the mix (something we do not normally have).
