Leaskdale - EMILY - A Musical presented by Mauds Thespians The Costomes are ready the participants have been practising Now it's time to Present Emily, written by Richard Ouzounian (the Toronto Stars theatre critic) for the 1999 Charlottetown Festival will be presented in the church, where Lucy Maud Montgommery's husband was the pastor, 100 years after their arrival in Leaskdale in 1911. The Church is Located across the road from the Manse, now a National Historical Site where the book was written. With music ranging from ballads to shoftshoe to choral numbers it follows the journey through life of the lead character "Emily" as she struggles to become a writer.
