You can find out if you have a leak in your home, by getting to know your water meter. Make sure no water is being used inside or outside of your home Remember to shut off automatic pool filters, sink faucets, washers and dishwashers Find your water meter (usually found in the basement) Look at the low flow indicator, as shown below.       The low flow indicator will move counter clockwise whenever water is passing through the meter. OREA and the Ontario Home Builder’s Association have teamed up to advocate in support of a permanent home renovation tax rebatefor provincial home owners. If created, a permanent home renovation rebate would give home owners an incentive to use a professional contractor who pays taxes and maintains liability insurance. Similar to the federal home renovation tax credit from 2009, the rebate would generate economic activity and move more transactions out of the underground economy allowing the provincial government to collect the missed tax revenue.  OREA has included the proposal to create a permanent home renovation tax rebate in its “Home Ownership Matters” campaign. As a result, the renovation rebate has received coverage in a number of daily newspapers around Ontario.

HST Transition Rules   The provincial government has provided rules/guidance on how it will transition to the implementation of the proposed Harmonized Sales Tax. BackgroundThe provincial government has announced that it intends to combine the eight percent Provincial Sales Tax with the five percent federal Goods and Services Tax, creating a 13 percent Harmonized Sales Tax (HST). Perhaps some of smaritans are already using it, but I was not aware of this tool. Its just good !! It works in Canada and US. This is just what he sent me! Google 411 - Good One...NO, GREAT ONE! Here's a number worth putting in your cell phone, or your home phone speed dial: 1-800-goog411 or 1-800-466-4411. This is an awesome service from Google, and it's free -- great when you are on the road. Don't waste your money on information calls and don't waste your time manually dialing the number. I am driving* along in my car and I need to call the golf course and I don't know the number. I hit the speed dial for information that I have programmed (1-800-466-4411). The voi...
