One of Yukon Oklahoma's best kept secrets, is the Meadows at Surrey Hills.  The Meadows, is a quiet community at affordable pricing.  There are several builders and lots to choose from.  You can ride your golf cart to the nearby Surrey Hills Golf Course.  The commons area has a large club house, and soon the swimming pool will be complete.  Also Surrey Hills Elementary is close, and shopping is just minutes away on the N.W. Expressway.   Access to all parts of the city is available via the Kilpatrick Turnpike that is just down the street off of Hefner.

You would love Yukon for a lifetime! Great people, rich history, perfect location! Just a few miles West from Oklahoma City you will be nicely surprised to find a city which offers relaxed and comfortable living, accredited five star ranked schools, great dining, wonderful shopping and plenty of community events. Yukon is a city in Canadian County, Oklahoma, United States and is part of the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area. The population was 21,043 at the 2000 census. It all started in 1891 with about 25 residents and A.N. Spencer, a cattlemen from Texas, who started building a railroad from El Reno to Arkansas. With help of his brothers they begun building a new town - Yukon. The biggest growth came from the Yukon Mill and Grain Company owned by Czech families - Kroutils and Dobrys. Yu...

In my previous article Become a home owner NOW! Don't wait for better rates! I wrote about the changes in rates and house prices and how they affect the total monthly payments. There is no advantage in waiting for a better deal! With the rates going up the consumer is actually getting hurt by media speculations in order to hike their ratings. The sub-prime lending crisis pertains only to about 5% of real estate market! The economy is in good shape; let's hope that we can solve our energy crisis soon and start drilling in ANWR! For more information about our state's economy go to Oklahoma is No1 recession-proof city!  When you apply for a mortgage loan, you expect your lender to pull a credit report and look at whether you've made your payments on time. What you may not expect is that they seem to be more interested in your FICO score. What is a FICO score? Each time your credit report is pulled, it is run through a computer program wit a built-in scorecard. Points are awarded or deducted based on certain items such as how long you have had credit cards, whether you make your payments on time, if your credit balances are near maximum, and assorted other variables. When the credit report prints in your lender's office, the total score is displayed. Your score can be anywhere between the high 300's and the low 800's. Lenders wanted to determine if there was any relationship between these credit scores...

Good Thing You're in Oklahoma! It is true that Oklahoma is No.1 recesssion proof city (Source:Forbes magazine). Just look at the numbers which I put together to see yourself how stable the housing market is here. I researched Yukon and Mustang, OK only because these are "my markets". It is clear that stability is obvious. In my previous article Become a home owner NOW! Don't wait for better rates! I talked about the changes in rates and house prices and how they affect the total monthly payments. There is no advantage in waiting for a better deal. With the rates going up the consumer is actually getting hurt by media speculations. These are statistics for the last full quarters and "almost full" current quarter. I will post numbers for a full quarter once we get to end of the month.  ...

Become a new home owner NOW! Don't wait any longer .... just read and decide for yourself. Lots of buyers or wannabe buyers are waiting on the sidelines for the rates to fall even more. Did they hit bottom yet? Should I wait? Or should I act? People are waiting .... scared, second guessing, afraid to make a mistake of throwing their money away or missing on BIG SAVINGS opportunity on forclosures, bargain houses, better rates etc. What do you think about rates? Will they fall or will they rise? No one has that proverbial crystal ball to see what the future will bring - neither bankers nor speculators. This is a fact: the mortgage rates are at the record low and have been for some time. Mass media provide us with grim perspective of real estate market on the daily basis. Urrggghhhh! All o...

It was an absolutely great evening with our friends yesterday! Just the night before we were told to expect tornadoes, golf ball size hail, severe thunderstorms with destructive winds etc...you get the picture...Being not very fond of such weather, a thought was constantly crossing my mind: will my house survive? will my garden be bombarded to pieces? and so on...With my vivid imagination I saw my place with lots of broken tree limbs, plenty of good ol' Oklahoma mud, floods and me calling all of my friends to cancel "The Party". All of the "wise" weather gurus were WRONG and thankfully nothing like this happened! The storm with it's "bag of goodies" just passed us by. What a relief! In the end we couldn't ask for a better weather. Perhaps it was a little too muggy but, oh well, this is ...

On March 4 the voters of Yukon approved the bonds to build a new Highschool and athletic facility.  This is wonderful news for the children of Yukon. The school should be finished by the 2011 school year.  By building a new highschool we will have ample room the the 9-12 student growth.  Also the 6-8 grades will occupy the current 9-12 plant with includes a performace gym, football field and new band facilities.  The current 6-8 school will become a 4-5 center.  This will also free up space in our grade schools for the all day kindergarden which will begin in a few years.  For anyone thinking of moveing to this area Yukon is a wonderful location.  Great Housing and now great schools.

Hello friends.  This is my first time at a blog.  I will try not to bore you with my thoughts.  On March 4th the people of Yukon have a great opportunity to make Yukon a better place to live and in doing so will help the real estate market continue to grow.  We will have the opportunity to vote for a $89 million bond issue to build a new High school facility.  This vote will NOT raise taxes.  To me this is a no brainer idea.  The school officials have purchased a 110 acre site in the city of Yukon and payed for it with school maps fund.  The bond issue will be for the building of the school and related equipment.
