Warr Acres Post office is moving from it's old location on n.w. 63rd street.  The word is that mold was discovered in the lease property where the current office is located.  The building located at the intersection of N.W. 63rd and MacArthur takes up much of the block.  The company that owns this large piece of real estate apparently doesn't care much about it, due to the run down appearance of the building and the pot hole pitted parking lot.  I have contacted the property manager to try to purchase the building for a client, but they have no interest in selling it.  There are currently only a couple of small businesses left in the entire block of real estate. The U S Post office at 6001 Northwest 63rd Street will be moving west a few hundred feet closer to 63rd street where postal de...

Lately, when driving in Warr Acres and the Oklahoma City area, you really have to beware of the huge spots of missing asphalt.  Due to the freezing rain and snow, a lot of damage has been done to the local streets.  I'm sure the snowplows that cleared the streets probably chipped a few chunks out, as well as water getting underneath and expanding as it froze the payment out of it's place. One has to drive cautiously to avoid tearing up a tire or damaging your car's suspension.  I drive a full size truck and there are some holes that scare me.  If you drive a small car, you could probably total it out by hitting some of the new craters that have appeared in the last few months. Until these cavities are repaired, please use a lot of caution when driving.  The lane next to the curb seems t...

Today, November 4th, 2008, at 11:30 a.m., we used our privilege to vote.  The numbers on the ballad counters at our designated voting precinct for Warr Acres, Oklahoma, were very high for our community.  The numbers were triple to what I have seen at closing time in other, more local elections.  It's a great thing to see the public get this enthused about anything.  It also makes me wonder what it would be like if this enthusiasm were present at all opportunities to change our communities, cities, state, and nation by exercising our right to vote. We may not have a lot of control as one vote, but at least we have a small push on the people, bills, and rights that affect us every day.  It also can clear a path for our generations that follow.  Please don't think your vote won't change an...

Three Musketeers outdoor theatre at the Myriad Gardens Water stage The Three Musketeers   The Three Musketeers performance was great, when you take into account all of the lines they had to remember, the prop changes, the temperature on the stage, and the audio control.   It was fast paced and told a great story with a little humor.  We had a great time and enjoyed it very much. We hope all the other Tweeners enjoyed it as well and we welcome any comments or thoughts you might have.  Also, you might want to visit Oklahoma's Shakespeare in the Park's web page for more information about what is going on with this team's talent at http://www.oklahomashakespeare.com/. It's good to have a break in the weather the last few days. I've got some of those leaves removed and bagged up and the Christmas lights down. Sitting here at open house, I am seeing more people out looking, and taking more time to learn more about the homes they are looking at. children are riding their skateboards and bicycles around.I'm sure these nice days will pass, but they will be back.Best wishes to everyone reading and Happy New Year
