The HOT Edmond Neighborhood, new construction, in the $150,000-$200,000 price range is Northampton!  Northampton is located near NW 150 and Pennsylvania.  In this neighborhood area Realtors participated in the sale of 53 homes in 2009!  Of those, 21 sold in under 30 days. Folks living in Northampton enjoy shopping at nearby Quail Springs Mall, SuperTarget and Walmart.  There are a wide variety of dining options in close proximity too! Edmond Homes Sold 2008 vs. 2009As 2009 ended the television news shows were filled with prognosticators making statements about 2010 and our national economy, real estate, and entertainment.  Did you see them?  The forecast overall seems good for the country.  But real estate is a local news story.  So, while my family huddled around the tv to watch endless bowl games, I huddled up to my computer and gathered real estate data for Edmond.I chose to look only at homes that feed into the Edmond Public Schools system by price range.  I compared homes that had closed from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009 to homes that closed the previous year in the same year long span.  All data used was found on the Oklahoma City MLS.As you can see from the illustration above, in the price ranges... 01/02/2010

Out with the old, in with the new.  Christmas brings  in the new clothes, toys and household items.  This makes the end of the year a perfect time to clean out the old from the closets and drawers throughout your home.  Sort what you want to keep, what can be donated to an Edmond charity, and what should be thrown away. Brrrr!  It is so very cold outside in Edmond, Oklahoma today!  Knowing that this day was on it's way, I went through my home and made sure that all the windows and doors were closed tight.  Unfortunately, I found more than one window that was not and was causing a draft of cold air to come into my home.  Because the windows are original to our 1992 home and a builder's grade it was a struggle to get them closed.  It took two of us to get the job done.  One to push the window down with all our might and one to quickly close the latch.  Needless to say these are not the most efficient windows available.  Once we managed to close the window we discussed how we really need to replace these windows... someday!Well someday may be coming in 2010!Yesterday President Obama proposed a new program... 12/09/2009

This is very good news!  The tax credits have been extended, and not just for those buying for the first time. The first time home buyer can receive an $8,000 tax credit through the following date:  April 30, 2010.
