Calling The Shops at Worthington Place?  Their phone number is (614) 841-1110, really.  The Shops at Worthington Place was callled Worthington Square and the Worthington Mall but the Worthington shopping area on W. Wilson Bridge Road was renamed The Shops at Worthington Place when "the mall" was redeveloped.  The office at the mall Recently I had a woman (whom I have met more than once) call and leave me a message on my voice mail.  The voice mail for my phone number, which has nothing to do with "the mall" in Worthington by any name.  The message she left was just to call her.   When I returned her call she asked me if I was in the office in the mall.   "What mall?" was what I responded.   The HER Realtors office I work in NOW* is kind of a strip mall... No it's really more just a stri...

What's NEW in Worthington?  Pies & Pints opened at the Shops at Worthington Place last week.  The menu is available on their website Pies & Pints . Heads up in case of a pizza emergency, the web address is not what you'd think.  The Pies & Pints web address (domain) is www.piesandpints.net  Notice the .net if you use .com and you will be looking at Seattle pizza.  Writing a post on ColumbusBestBlog.com about a VIP foodie blogger event Worthington Welcomes Pies & Pints, I had it linked the post link to the Seattle site.  Duh! Pies & Pints opened at the Shops at Worthington Place, pies are pizza of course... and pints means beer, but you knew that you are smart.  What kind of pizza is Pies & Pints....  I love pizza but I am NOT a big pizza eater or beer drinker. I ate a lot of pizza.  It ...

A photo of W. Wilson Bridge Rd. in Worthington in 1937... A photo of W. Wilson Bridge Road in Sharon Township in 1937. As Don O'Brien who took the photo of his friend and his brother says at the time, W. Wilson Bridge was not in the Worthington Corporation at the time... it was years before the area was annexed to the city of Worthington. I am guessing the mailing address for W. Wilson Bridge at the time would have been Worthington, Ohio?  The photo is of course, not of W. Wilson Bridge Road!  The photo was taken in 1937 of his friend, his brother and the O'Brien family's dog "Chink."  W. Wilson Bridge Rd., a country road with telephone lines is just the back drop.  Worthington including Old Worthington is the back drop for a lot of Don O'Brien's photos.  It is funny how many of his pho...

Worthington, Ohio October 24, 1938  - corn husking  A photo from a farm on the east side of Worthington in 1938.  Don O'Brien (Dok1 on Flickr) took the photo at a corn husking. This photo is of the starting gun at the corn husking. Mr. O'Brien identifies the event as taking place at the Walter Williams farm on Galena Road at the juncture with E. Wilson Bridge Road. A map of that area today: Map - the intersection of Worthington Galena and E. Wilson Bridge Road today.  It is not rural now.  There are businesses on the north-side of E. Wilson Bridge Road backing to 270 now. Wonder if there was a Huntley Road back in 1938?  Now east of the junction of Worthington Galena Road and E. Wilson Bridge is the Budweiser brewery.  The Wilson Bridge Corridor in  Worthington Ohio is just south of 2...

I went.  I sweated.  I listened.  They announced new tenants!   Coming soon to The Shops at Worthington Place: Panera Bread Johnson's Ice Cream Swan Cleaners Swan Cleaners was the first tenant when the Worthington shopping center was built in the 1970s?      Tom Carter is the one without a hardhat.  He has one in earlier photos...  he was putting one on in the series of action photos I took of the shoveling  Ground Breaking ceremony at Shops at Worthington Place.   The area between the Kroger store and the shops is going to be green space?  A park like place that people will want to be!  New and existing tenants at The Shops at Worthington Place They talked about another tenant that they had wanted to announce, so ...
