All things Woolly Bear in Vermilion Ohio                       The annual Woolly Bear Festival is the largest one day festival in the State of Ohio. It is held the second weekend of October each year in the picturesque, historic, Lake side town of Vermilion, Ohio   More than 30 years ago, Northeast Ohio weatherman, Dick Goddard came up with the idea to host a festival around this furry caterpillar.  The premise was that the caterpillar’s furry black and orange striped body could indicate what type of winter was in store for the area.  The idea was just wacky enough to take off and it’s been a tradition ever since. Summer Concert Series Lorain County Metro Parks District announces 2010 Vermilion River Reservation Summer Concert Series schedule.
