I got a phone call the other day, and it went like this: Caller:  Are you Deborah? Me:  Yes I am. Caller:  I got your number from your Active rain profile. Me: (thinking) Wow! A lead! Yahoo!  This really works! Caller:  I'm So and So from So and So and we're looking for agents in your zipcode for only $199 a month you will receive all the leads in your area.  Is this something that you could use? Well yeah I could use some good leads.  Why doesn't the company capture the leads and have their own agents following up?   After I questioned the caller, they told me the price.  What is it? Do all these companies think that Realtors are  made of money.  If things were so good, how come the caller is not jumping on this opportununity?  Give me a break!

Question from office manager: "Can you volunteer an hour of your time Friday?" Answer: "Yes." Question from office manager: "Aren't you suppose to ask 'What for?'" Answer: "What for?" Explanation from office manager: "Our office will be holding a car wash from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm. Our Fulton office is in competition with the other 14 Cutler Real Estate offices to see which one can raise the most money for the United Way. Let Laura know what time you can volunteer." Me talking silently to myself after office manager leaves: "Sheesh! I just spent a whole day last week as a volunteer cleaning carpets at the Red Cross building for the United Way Day of Caring and Sharing. As if that wasn't enough? Oh well.... I guess it won't hurt anything... besides, I can take Coffy along, I am sure he...

On Tuesday, September 9th, Cutler Real Estate lent some much needed assistance as staff and agents volunteered and participated in the annual United Way Day of Caring and Sharing. The Red Cross in Canton had an urgent need to have the carpets cleaned in their building on 5th St, and also their buses sorely needed a wash job. Coffy was able to work with the carpet cleaning crew, and was really happy about that! Coffy got to work with four REALTORS on the carpet cleaning crew. They were Gordon, Jim, Justin, and Jim. "Okay, let's get this show on the road!" "It's not as easy as it looks! Supervising the carpet cleaning crew was hard work!" If you ever get a chance, be sure to lend a helping hand! Please help the Red Cross to help others.

I joined Cutler Real Estate because they are local, family oriented, well known and respected in Stark County, and they believe in being involved in the community. We were well represented by my fellow agents, Title people, Insurance, Accounting, Managers, and CEO Jim Camp.  We washed 13 Red Cross vans and one truck.  The vans are used to take patients to dialysis and other appointments.  The truck is used to haul disaster relief trailers.

22,000 22,000 people in Stark County are still waiting for power. I met an older lady in the grocery store and I asked was she buying three bags of ice, because her power was out? When she answered yes, other people in the checkout line volunteered they didn't have power either. The Lady told me she had been going to the Jackson township YMCA to shower. Others said they went to friends and relatives for relief. Several agents at my office are suffering as well. One agent and her husband went to a local hotel to relax, watch TV and of of course shower. I saw views like this everywhere I went.

The remnants of hurricane Ike blew through Ohio yesterday with winds up to 80 miles an hour in some areas.  It was scary!  Here are some photos from my neighborhood.  Thank goodness none of my trees fell! This tree fell on my neighbor's father's car as he was pulling out of the driveway! Around 10:00 last night my dogs started barking and barking and wouldn't stop.  I went outside but couldn't see anything.  After talking with my neighbor this morning I found out that was about the same time that this tree fell.  My poor neighbor's garage. My neighbor's tree My swimming pool filled up with leaves

Viva Las Vegas!! Coffy just had to see what all the excitement was about. When he had a chance to go to Las Vegas, Nevada with Jim and Judy, he just couldn't resist. His bags were already packed, he just needed to raid his little teddy bear bank of coins so he could try his luck at the slots when he got there. Coffy was delighted to stop over at Chicago O'Hare airport, because that meant he had more take off and landings than he would have had with a straight through flight. AhhhhHHHH!!! Life is good while staying at the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas! Ceasars Palace! What time is it? Coffy was a hit with the local folks! Coffy spent all his money on food so he couldn't try his hand at the slots. Indian Friend We Are Family!! Some more of Coffy's Las Vegas friends. Coffy invited all his new f...

In the latest issue of Prevention magazine, they say that good posture can help you lost weight faster.  Slumping during a cardio workout increases your heart rate.  This in turn can make your workout feel harder and make you breath faster.  If you pull back your shoulder blades and stand tall, this allows you to take in more oxygen and pick up the pace.  Your workout will feel much easier and you will burn more calories!  Remember, good posture = Burn more calories!!

This is an amazing market.... there are great deals to be found everywhere! If this is the case, then why hasn't your home sold? Some homes are flying off the market as soon as they are listed and some homes sit around for a while before the buyer comes. Is there anything you can do to help your house be one of the first homes that sells? The #1 most important tip you must follow is to be realistic about the price. You don't want to overprice your home by $30,000 only to have it sit around waiting for a buyer that finally comes along a year later after 3 price reductions. You need to price the house realistically from the start! A lot of sellers may shop around for a REALTOR that will suggest the highest price and then will list their house with that REALTOR. If it would be possible to ...

Coffy wants everyone to know that his hometown is the City of Canton, Ohio! He has a few pictures of himself that he would like to share that shows him at one of his favorite local attractions.  North, South, East, or West, no matter where he roams, HOME is always best. Coffy loves to travel, but always likes the feeling he gets when he gets back home too.

My little friend Coffy The Cutler Bear loves to travel, and he would like to see as much of the world as possible. I don't have enough vacation time or money nor the means to help him accomplish his goal, but together maybe we can make his dreams come true. His home is in Stark County, Ohio, in the city of Canton, Ohio. Would you be able to help? Might you or your family allow Coffy to accompany you on your own trips? He would be more than happy to hitch a ride to where ever you may travel, but he always wants to come back home. He keeps a bag packed and ready to go at a moments notice. He also has his own little journal in which he hopes you will log the places he's been, the things he's seen, the things he's experienced, the people he's met, and the number of miles he's traveled. He e...

The Absorption Rate is the theoretical time it takes to clear existing inventory. The Active Listings are the number of current active listings. Listing sold per Month is the average number of unit sales per month over the last 3 months.  Months of Supply is the absorption rate inventory derived by Supply/Demand.  And last is the Odds of Selling within 90 days.  A 5-6 month supply is considered balanced with roughly the same number of sellers as buyers.  Higher numbers mean it is a buyers market, while less is a sellers market. The Jackson market has an overall 75% selling rate within 90 days.   Currently there is a 1.5 months supply of inventory.  Interestingly houses in the $400,000-499,999 is selling at 70%.   Prices From Prices To   Active   Listings Sold Listings   # of   Odds of ...

You have just bought and moved into your new home.  The most beautiful home on the block with the big tree in front yard and the white picket fence.  You have finally finished unpacking the last box- it only took 3 long months, but finally you are settled in!  Oh no!  You woke up this morning shivering, the furnace must have stopped working.  Reluctantly you decide to take a hot shower before calling someone to come look at it.  Oh no!  Only cold water will come out of the faucet.  Sighing you decide to make some coffee to drink while you research who to call.  Oh no!  When you opened the refrigerator to get the cream out, you discovered it wasn't keeping the food cold.  What are you going to do?  Feeling very overwhelmed you start to panic.  What should I do?  Who should I call? If you...
