Tenacity -- I hope you get one just like you.  My mom has told me many times before we decided to have kids: I hope you get one just like you: non-stop as she said with a glint and a hint of friendly revenge in her eye. Tenacity.  Just take a look at my son there in December weather in Cleveland, Ohio. Frigid temperatures -- in the teens with the wind chill. This kid plays basketball all winter long in the backyard.  He shovels the snow off to the best of his ability and he will go outside and shoot baskets for 30-60 minutes just about every day.  If the court is icy, he will take his boot and try and scrape it off when he can't get the shovel to do what he wants. Sometimes, he will spend 10 minutes dragging his heel around scraping ice off the court, just enough to make a lay-up path. ... 12/23/2010

Goodbye my friend.  A piece of my life just drove away yesterday, never to return, and I'm a bit nostalgic, not really melancholy, but my wife and I definitely took a trip down memory lane for a bit. The reason for the nostalgia is pretty simple I think: I'm past the point of getting excited about cars anymore.  We decided to not buy a new car anymore after this one due the huge depreciation encountered in the first several years.  My goal and ideals are more practical: reliability, low maintenance, lower total cost of ownership, and practicality. This car may well be the last new car we will ever own.  We owned this car for 18 years so it becomes a part of your life, albeit minor, but always there, nonetheless.
