The Great Lakes hold over 20% of the world’s fresh surface water, and Lake Erie is the most at-risk lake of all the Great Lakes, because it is the shallowest. It is also the source of all Avon Lake’s water. Part of our job as your water company is keeping Lake Erie alive and healthy. The group held its first working meeting on Saturday, April 20, at its future site at 33501 Lake Rd. Avon Lake. The North Coast Community Woodshop (NCCW) is to bring the first "community workshop" to Avon Lake. Plans are in the works to convert part of the old Avon Lake Community Theater into a workshop that will include work benches and wood working machines. This all-volunteer group is also using wood from the defunct Avon Lake Indoor Skate Park to construct workbenches.  An opening date has not yet been set.
