Yesterday the Nothnagle Realtor's Office participated in ringing the bell at the Topp's Market in Ontario, New York. The above picture was taken on my arrival at one p.m. to relieve Santa aka Larry Fisher and third from the left Darlene Maimone. The three surrounding Darlene Emily, Jess and Mark Privitera and I rang from one pm to three pm.I do have to admit the three were exuberant the whole time and we had to empty the kettle twice.People were walking in and all had smiles upon entering and leaving the store. I do not know the final totals yet but would say the kettle was like popcorn and overflowing.

The International that oversees water levels on Lake Ontario has come up with Plan 2014.Environmentalist like it because it will restore the water levels to a more natural state and rise and fall from two to four feet. This will allow natural wetlands to restore themselves. On the other side of the coin property owners now spend about $20,000,000 dollars each year to prevent erosion and this would increase by about $2,000,000 each year. One of the areas that could see an increase in flooding is Sodus Point, New York where my boat is docked in the summer.Supposedly if the lake rises abnormally there will be a quicker response time to allow water out the St.Lawrence Seaway and should have minimal impact near Montreal. At the moment there are eleven properties for sale and two business's with...

Yesterday with three couples to show homes to yesterday in at 1833 Kenyon Road Ontario, New York the last showing which is a HUD home became more of an open house. The clients I was showing the home to felt it was too much for them to undertake and decided to go talk to their Father the carpenter. The home actually has good bones and needs updating, windows, doors and possibly a new boiler. While we were getting ready to leave an investor asked if he could walk through the home and being the nice guy he was alllowed in. As I was hoping to be home and watch the first playoff game it was not meant to happen as more people stopped to view the home. This morning the Father called and wants to go view the home and get information for financing for his Daughter and future son-in-law.So not gett...

There are 74 acres that the Genesee Land Trust has the opportunity to purchase from the Cornwall family and become a land preserve for people to walk along Lake Ontario and wooded lands. This is where I grew up and had many adventures from the woods containing hollowed trees with ladders inside to view boats and ships on the water to what was called table rock and the 40 foot high cliffs to get to the waters edge.I have decided that a donation from my closings to the end of the year to help raise the $640,000 to make this endeavor happen.https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CB8QFjAAahUKEwjktPnp7bfHAhUCaD4KHdwgC-Q&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.democratandchronicle.com%2Fstory%2Fnews%2F2015%2F07%2F20%2Fland-trust-buying-historic-property%2F30416035%2F&...

The drive out was uneventful and I think it went well and the drive to the first showing and conditions put me behind schedule. Here is what it looked like in Sodus     and here are two of the home   If you are an avid ice fisherman, snow mobiler or can wait for summer and swimming and boating this might be the home for you. The agenda for the day is an inspection of 153 Oneta Road, Irondequoit, New York 14617 and a final walk through of 3206 E Foster Street, Palmyra, New York 14522. These assisted sales were to a first time buyer and a divorcing Father. The first time buyer is esthetic and the other is happy to be not renting any longer. I thought it was funny how similar the properties and the mind set of the buyers. As it is a decent start to the year it is time for the phone calls to begin and the second pot of coffee. Make yourself a great day.
