Penfield Youth WrestlingPenfield Youth Wrestling Program is in affiliated with the Penfield Recreation Department. The PYW season will run in three separate sessions from late fall to early spring. The first of three seasons will run November to December, then January to February, and the third and final session will be March to April. The “Pen-Web” (Penfield-Webster) Rotary Club is accepting entries for its Snow Much Fun softball tournament to be held on Saturday, Jan. 28 at Webster Town Hall on Ridge Road in Webster. The event benefit the club’s literacy project. More than 80 athletes and spectators played and cheered for their favorite teams in six inches of snow last year. Why Do You Exercise?  Check Out These Steps to Fitness     The photo above was taken at the Eastside Family YMCA in Penfield, NY.  This is the staircase that leads to the fitness facilities on the second floor.  As you climb the steps, you see many reminders of the reasons you are at the Y.  Every time I visit friends and family in Rochester, I make a point to visit this YMCA.  It is a spectacular facility, and these stairs are at the core of its commitment to health and fitness.   The 20-member Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee has presented to the Town of Penfield their proposal fo all of the Town's land-use decisions. It provides the Town's country vision, guidelines for future develepment, and establishes goals and objectives for the next 15 years. It's time to take a look at what happened in the housing market this past week in the eastern suburbs of Rochester, NY, including Brighton, Pittsford, East Irondequoit, Webster, Penfield, and Perinton/Fairport. It was a busier week, with 14 listings going under contract. One listing in Irondequoit received a contingent offer and is still being shown, while the other 13 went pending. The days on the market for these properties show large variations. A short sale in Pittsford was on the market for 444 days, whereas a nicely updated split level with a great deck in Webster received an offer in only 5 days. Although we don't yet know what these homes sold for, 10 out of the 14 were listed under $200,000.
