Can Objects Really Change The Energy of Your Home, Office Space and Life? Some say objects in Feng Shui are just "Knick-Knacks." They are said to be inanimate objects that the Eastern world uses as symbols to represent protection, wealth and harmony and Westerners took the objects and coined them as Feng Shui.   High Holy Master Professor Lin Yun taught his students that all objects (whether they seem inanimate or not) hold energy that gives "life" to them.  Does this mean life as in breathing and moving? No.  Professor Lin Yun introduced Feng Shui to America back in the 1970's teaching the spirituality of Feng Shui while also taking into account the use of objects to make Feng Shui easier to comprehend. During that time period with human collective consciousness, people where not ready...

Designer Till Konneker has a familiar story—he was living in a tiny studio apartment approaching the size of a large closet, knowing that although it had to work, it just didn't work. He needed space. So, hedesigned the perfect all-in-one bed frame meets stylish storage unit and called it the Living Cube. A neat and orderly spin on throwing stuff under the bed, it features twelve storage spaces of different sizes. One part is divided into several smaller sections, and the middle space is big enough to hang clothing. Konneker, who initially designed the piece for himself, also fits his television and record collection inside. But what if, say, you have a ton of clothes? The Living Cube can also be transformed into a walk-in closet. It can even store a bicycle. Konneker offers two standar...

Four Celestial Animals in Feng Shui: The Black Turtle  The turtles job is to protect the back of your home from approaching enemies and strong Northern winds. This method of Feng Shui focuses on the formation of the land.    You can represent the turtle by positing your home near a mountain (if you have that option) or slight hill behind the building. If that is not an option you can recreate that energy using landscape and other visual cues. We did this with the Viana Hotel and Spa in Westbury New York. Walking behind the building you will see a mountain like pattern placed into the wall behind the hotel of recreate that energy of protection. Some may even purchase a turtle statue and place it in there back yard with the head of the turtle facing toward their home.    The suggested acc...

[Raleigh D'Adamo's 1964 map, researched by Peter Lloyd and designed this year by Reka Komoli, all via Max Roberts of Tube Map Central.] Fifty-one years ago, a young lawyer entered a competition to redesign New York City's subway map. At the time, it had only three colors, because the underground network's routes were originally built and operated by three separate companies. The IRT, BMT, and IND lines intersected and and overlapped, so only using three colors made things pretty darn confusing for the amateur subway-goer. So Raleigh D'Adamo entered the 1964 contest, and here's what he proposed, as per expert Peter Lloyd of Metro Map Art: · Draw each route in its own colour rather than the colour of its original operating company. (Obvious with hindsight, but at the time quite innovative...

Feng Shui Soul Sunday: Do We Only Live Once?      “You only live once," is a common saying among many in the world. Yet, as the years progress on, people are becoming more awaken to the understanding that their is greater potential of knowing, we in fact live more then once. Hinduism calls this reincarnate and defines it as an opportunity to learn, teach and ascend collectively. If you didn't learn your lesson the first time, say from a past life experience or currently, the same scenario will play out in your life today. The characters in your story will change positions but, your story will continue to be the same until you change due to what you have learned.    Modern day science has been documenting people who experience past live connections.  That includes young children, adults ...

Always we hopesomeone else has the answer.some other place will be better, some other time it will all turn out. This is it.no one else has the answer.no other place will be better, and it has already turned out. At the center of your beingyou have the answer;you know who you areand you know what you want. There is no needto run outsidefor better seeing. Nor to peer from a window. Rather abide at the center of your being;for the more you leave it, the less you learn. Feng Shui Tips for Entrepreneurs (and really anyone) Working from Cafe's and Coffee Shops No matter where you work, let that be in an office, cubical, your home office, a public library and now even more commonly a cafe and coffee shop (like Starbucks), you want to make sure you make the most of your work zone.  For those who do most of their work in Cafe's and Coffee shops, you risk a lot more distraction.   You may have people taking beside you, the calling out of coffee and food orders, other business meetings and sales taking place. It's a very active energy and can be very motivating, yet at the same time, its important to create energy boundaries. Below are some base suggestions to help you do just that.    1. To help you awake, take yourself a nice warm shower. Envision yourself ...

A Message From a Small Budding Flower   Most people tend to go for the flowers in full bloom with the amazing colors and vibrancy. And you can say, as humans with certain aspects of life, we do the same. Each year, this world seems so focused on "instant gratification" and when it does not happen, that inner child may come screaming outward. That feeling of frustration bubbles to the surface. We want all the work to be done and gain the benefit without any effort. Well, guess what? Life does not work that way. At some point in time we all have to put in the effort, the time, the discipline, the focus and have patience with the process.    Mother Nature is among one of our greatest teachers in life. In Feng Shui budding trees and plants actually symbolize a powerful energy source. For t...

Motivational Monday: Self-love   This is something we all need, everyday, all year long, even in our sleep, Self love. This is about being narcissistic, it's simply setting standards for yourself and being very mindful with who you allow to surround you during this journey. Your life, your emotions, your body, your energy, your home is a precious gift and sometimes its not meant to be shared with everyone.  We have all been there, someone taking advantage of us, talking down to us, projecting their fear based ideas onto us. If not aware, you can easily be influenced by that interaction. Remember, you are your own temple and your home is a temple.   Would you allow someone to speak negatively to you in your place of peace and devotion to self?    Not in my temple.    Self love is about...

How to Heal From The Loss of a Parent  This is probably one of the hardest experiences to go though as a child (and really for anyone).  To watch one of your parents or loved ones spiritually transformation from life to death. It is a heart breaking experience while also a huge leap into spiritual growth. Yet in the moment it surly does not feel that way. A misconception I had after mom passed in 2010 was thinking I had to "get over her loss" quickly. Don’t show emotion and just keep moving forward! You have a business to run, a grandmother to care for, and much more to be responsible for, do not show weakness! Those were the thoughts that constantly circulated within my mind. Ironically, because of that mind set it hindered me from healing and moving forward. During the period of time,...

Feng Shui Question Email: Hello: Just read your post about mirrors. I live in a hi-rise and I removed a fabulous hollywood regency mirror because it was reflecting the view of my neighbors terraces. I want to hang it where it reflects the view of the Art Museum and city skyline but want to know do mirrors always need a table or shelf under them? I want to hang it low on the wall perpendicular to a wall of floor to ceiling glass. What say you? Signed, PA Feng Shui Answer: One of the main rules of mirrors is to be mindful of what they reflect because that energy will double. The reflection will also be brought into your home. If that reflection is going to bring a feeling of happiness then do that. Sometimes could be recommend to frame the mirror if that is possible or just allow it to fr...
