The Rivoli Theatre located on Laurel Avenue & Route 42 in South Fallsburg was built in 1923.  It was a major source of both live and film entertainment during those years of Jewish summer resorts in this region of the Catskill Mountains.  The front marquee is a 3 sided neon sign supported by chains with a vertical neon sign on the front.  The lobby and foyer are in their original size and shape but have been renovated over the years with newer materials.   In 2001 the Rivoli was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today a local arts group continues to put plays on there every summer and their interest has turned to refurbishing the theater's marquee.  They are trying to raise $27,000 that will match a grant from the state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preserva... 07/31/2011
