Times Herald Record Central Valley — A couple at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets helped stop the mugging of another couple outside of KB Toys Saturday evening, police said. Woodbury Police officials said that a husband and wife intervened in the robbery of a 44-year-old woman and her husband, who were being attacked by a Monroe man, trying to steal the woman’s pocketbook around 6:45 p.m. The female good Samaritan was able to stop the attack by pepper spraying the attacker, 34-year-old Russell Maffei of Monroe. The same woman then talked down Maffei’s accomplice in the crime, 24-year-old Alexis Rivera, also of Monroe, from entering the fray.
