After more than a decade of will-it-won't-it, the Barclays Center has legitimately sprouted its green roof. The tiles started getting installed in May, and now, Arch Paper reports (by way of Brownstoner), the roof is nearly complete. Not only is the roof attractive in its own right, it really softens the brown rust color of the rest of the structure. It's set to be completed in September.

What Happens To The Energy Of My Home If I Do Not Use All The Rooms? This is a great question and common in rural areas, such as Long Island NY vs. urban settings in Brooklyn, Queens and New York City. Feng Shui takes into consideration the function of each room, as well as the atmosphere, arrangement of the space, goal and challenges of each client. If you come across rooms that lack occupation due to x, y or z reasons, it's suggested to "stage" the room as if it were being used. Let's take a guest room for example. That space may not always be in use, but you can activate that area of your home using accented colors and elements, such as with artwork, or color on the wall, and plants. Color and wood element (plants) are considered activation cures. You could even use a mirror to help s...

As a Realtor, we all know the old adage, “Everything Works”, so we all try to strive to be better through different venues and save money wherever possible, at least most of us. I was doing some research when I came across “EDDM”, every door direct mail, where you bundle and bring your postcards to the post office, use those desired “oversized postcards”, the mail carrier distributes them out personally to each address on their route and the postage is only 17 cents a postcard. In a perfect world, this would be a great idea/deal, but beware… Things are not always as they seem.  I start a USPS account; put my card info in, select EDDM. I carefully select which routes in what zip code I want my postcards to go to: even choose what age groups to distribute to, wow, this is awesome! I pay...
