LONG DOCK Park in Beacon NY - Perfect any time of year. I am a frequent visitor of Long Dock. This is a clean up site owned by Scenid Hudson River. Once a dump site now a cleaned up park that is perfect for many things. Taking photos is one of them. Long Dock faces Newburgh NY and the skyline at sunset is amazing. I am just glad to know that someone cared enough to clean this environmental disaster up and make it a park. You would never know, as there is nothing left behind from its commercial and industrial history. Now it is dotting with kayaks and people launching boats. The rehab area of wetland and meadow marshes attract wildlife. It makes me happy. LONG DOCK PARK AT TWILIGHT On any given day the views of the Hudson River are wonderful. Ever changing and dynamic the river is a comp...

Mill Street Loft - Dutchess Arts Camp - Beacon NY Summer Arts Programs  When my daughters were young we had some fabulous summer activiites. One of my favorite was when Kathleen spent a week in Poughkeepsie at the Mill Street Loft summer arts program. It was such an amazing program then, and it has expanded from just one location to three. I found it so worth our time that I would drive 30 minutes each way so that she could participate. We did that two different years for a week each. Creative talents flow when children are given a structured environment that allows for creativity to be expressed. By introducing new concepts and encouraging experimentation in art I saw my daughter blossom. That was almost twenty years ago. Mill Street Loft has expanded into an amazing place, and only re...

Just My Photos ~ Beacon Falls at Sunset Sundays Speechless Beacon New York A walk in the Town of Beacon by the falls is a favorite spot of mine for taking photos. So close to my home in Newburgh NY, I come here frequently. I’m sure the reason is quite obvious. Recently a new restaurant opened that overlooks this view. I will need to try that one in the future. I am enjoying the nearby trail with benches to sit and relax. Beacon Falls is a part of the Fishkill Creek, a Tributary of the Hudson River Janis Borgueta is a Realtor in Newburgh NY. And I thought we would not have any snow until February.  I can take the cold temperatures but can't stand the snow.  There was a time when it didn't matter. Don't know what changed but, something did. Anyway, no choice but to go with the flow. I took a picture of the first snow fall. Hope the rest of the snow falls will be like this one. We ended up with a couple of inches.
