Corrales, NM Real Estate News

By Rich Cederberg, eXp Realty Agent Albuquerque
(eXp Realty)
The number of Home sales in Corrales NM continued to be down with only one closed sale in January 2010. This is the fewest number of closed January sales in Corrales in six years.   We've been hearing a lot of positive news about the Albuquerque real estate market on the news lately. Remember, the rosey picture they are painting is for the metro area and is being fueled by the first time home buyer tax credit. Real estate is local, and the Corrales market is still slow.   Search Corrales Homes with 1 Plus Acres Search Corrales NM Affordable Homes Search Corrales NM Luxury Homes

Over the last three days I had two interactions with buyer clients that couldn't have been much different from each other. Buyer number one contacted me on Thursday about Corrales NM Horse Property. They said there were three or four homes they were interested in seeing. I happily emailed them back right away and asked them when they wanted to see them. It was about 11am at that time. They said "5 O'clock today." When I told them I was busy but could we do it tomorrow they said "no thanks, we'll find someone else." Buyer number two contacted me on Friday about Tijeras NM Homes for Sale. When I talked to him, I suggested he should come to my office where we could sit down and talk about the home buying process, talk about what he's looking for and maybe even look at homes for sale on the...

The Village of Corrales, as it is commonly known, is nestled between the thriving cities of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, yet it still manages to maintain an otherworldly feel that reflects the enchantment of New Mexico the way it was meant to be.  This treasured oasis is diligent about maintaining its laid back pace and rural lifestyle, and it does so with a plethora of annual festivals, dedicated residents, and a support-the-local-economy mentality.  The town is distinguished by the open spaces of orchards and broad green pastures, a richly historic and artistic character, and picturesque Corrales NM Real Estate that reflects the quaint charm of the surrounds.  Don't be surprised to encounter the sights, sounds, and scents of a rural locality, either, for as you cross over the boundarie...

At last month's Village Council meeting in Corrales, NM, councillors voted unanimously to adopt a new ordinance regarding sales tax impositions on real estate sales and construction and home improvements, despite vociferous opposition from many well-known local real estate brokers. According to an article in the Corrales Comment, the measure imposes a gross receipts tax reporting requirement meant to insure that the Village of Corrales receives sales tax revenues on homes and imporvements made in the village, rather than having such sales tax revenues be inadvertently misdirected to Albuquerque or Rio Rancho, where real estate brokers and contractors often have their offices. The new measure calls for Village permit signs to be posted on home sales, home construction, and remodeling pro...

Corrales New Mexico is a great rural setting yet right at the edge of the metropolitan Albuquerque area. We usually visit Gus Wagner's Farm a few times during the fall to get our roasted Green Chile… sweet corn, any yes, caramel apples, too. This year, we've visited several times and just can't get enough of the wonderful smell of the roasting chile. We even went back to get pumpkins last weekend and since they were still roasting chile, we bought yet another sack of green so our freezer is overflowing and the Green Chile is sure to last a few months. J With our home being in Corrales, we really enjoy the benefits of the small village feel, the horses, llamas, goats, sheep, hay and corn fields, and friendly neighbors that come along with it. It always amazes me to drive out of Corrale...

Corrales, New Mexico, is really a "green scene" in so many ways! This historic little village (around 7500 population) is located on the west bank of the Rio Grande, and has been an agricultural community from its founding in 1712! Known for its centuries-old cottonwoods, artists, agriculture, picturesque adobe homes, and horses galore, Corrales is small enough for residents to walk or bike around town, or better yet, ride horses right into the village center! Corrales residents love the quiet, peaceful atmosphere, with a single main road through town, with various "horse crossing signs, and one sign warning:"Drive slow, see or village:drive fast, see our judge." With its plentiful irrigated land, Corrales fields are truly lush and green, but that's not the only way in which Corrales i...

I took a little green walk down memory lane in Corrales, NM, the other day.   As a kid, one of my favorite regular outings was a trip to the wonderful Wagners' Farm in Corrales, where we youngsters could wander through the farm market absorbing the amazing aromas of dozens of varieties of fresh-off-the-tree apples, choose the absolutely perfect pumpkins for pies and jack-o-lanterns, and enjoy a cup of just-pressed cider while waiting for our parents to  load up on all sorts of other produce. Living in Albuquerque, heading down to Corrales was literally a trip to the "green side" of town, and I just loved that lush, river-bosque atmosphere of huge cottonwoods providing tree-lined lanes through the quaint Corrales village. And our time at Wagners would be demeaned by calling it "shoppi...

About Corrales, New Mexico: Quoting from the Village of Corrales web site: "The Village of Corrales is a small, treasured oasis located within a large, fast-growing metropolitan area. To cross the borders into Corrales is to step into another time and place where the stresses of twenty-first century life give way to the grace and pace of another era."I can hardy sum it up any better.Maybe it's my Minnesota hobby farm root, but I love this community. I also happen to call Corrales home. Its proximity to the river, the farms, it's rural nature, the trees and trails in the Bosque, and the phenomenal views from the hillside homes are just some of the things that make it so special.Corrales Village roots are in agriculture and people from all over the Albuquerque area will flock to Corrales...

Horse-friendly Corrales, NM has just completed its 5th annual version of one of the events that makes Corrales such a great home for horses and horse-owners: the Ditch Pony Promenade!Last June 20th, one hundred fifty three (153!) children showed up at the Top Form Arena in Corrales for what may be the biggest children's horse event in New Mexico. Sponsored by Dan's Boots and Saddles, this no-cost event is specifically for children, from toddlers to teens, and combines fun activities with serious classes promoting good horsemanship.According to The Horsemens Voice, event organizers are pleased that the level of riding seems to get better every year. Corrales horse owners are fighting back, to try to keep Corrales a horse-friendly community! Those of you who live in once-rural locations that have seen recent growth as former city-folks flood in to pursue their own idea of a "country lifestyle" may well relate to the story published in November's issue of The Horsemen's Voice, a New Mexico Magazine serving horse owners in the state. The article details a recent lawsuit detailing a Corrales horse owner whose brand-new neighbor objected to having to look out on her "ugly" barn. Cathy O'Neal, told the Horsemen's Voice, "They were not country people. they had no animals, I don't think they even owned a dog. But they took us to court, complaining about th edust and flies--and blaming it on our horses--and it cost me a lot of money."Fellow ...
