In April 2014, residents of Flint, MI found out that a change in their water source made to reduce costs actually brought unhealthy levels of lead to the city's water. In turn, thousands of men, women, and children developed health issues related to lead contamination. Five years later, they still battle lead issues. Last year, Newark officials found elevated levels of lead in their water. In October 2018, they began handing out water filters to help hold over residents until the issue could be resolved. Earlier this month, EPA officials found that the city's main water source still contains extremely high levels of water. Now, they're handing out bottled water to residents until they can get the lead problem under control. As a call to action for Westfield residents, we're being asked ...

Let's take a look at how the real estate market in Westfield performed in June of 2019.Inventory:In June, 54 single family homes were sold and 289 homes were offered for sale. To search for homes for sale in Westfield, please click here. Buyers find Westfield attractive, and homeowners benefit in the form of increasing sales prices and decreasing days on market.Realtors use an analysis called Months of Inventory to evaluate the real estate market. The Months of Inventory is equal to how long it would take to sell the existing inventory if no new houses were put on the market.  When the Months of Inventory is below four months, realtors call it a seller's market because the supply is relatively low so sellers have a stronger position in negotiations between a buyer and a seller. When the...

The Westfield Area Market Report for May 2019 showed that we are seeing a repeat of 2018 trends in the area. Senior homeowners listed their properties in search of a less expensive environment. Meanwhile, investors came in looking for ways to buy cheap and sell high. That meant more homes on the market in May. When supply runs high, sales get a little sluggish. When sales slow down, sellers begin to reduce prices. Then, buyers wait for those price reductions before they pounce. This creates a vicious cycle.Westfield Area Market Report - May 2019Active Westfield Luxury Homes for Sale - May 2019According to the Garden State MLS, 43 luxury Westfield homes hit the market in May 2019. Our local Jersey Mike's and Savory Spice aren't the only businesses who give back to the community. But, for them, it's a year-round thing.Outta Hand Pizza Westfield Feeds Veterans for FreeOwner Burim Regjaj purchased Outta Hand Pizza Westfield just last year. Shortly after taking over the business, a hungry gentleman came in for a bite to eat but didn't have any money to pay. After talking to the man, Mr. Regjaj learned that he was a veteran.
