August is dead around here.  Dead.  I love it - you can finally get a parking space at the post office!  But it's not the ideal time to sell a house. Along comes a delightful couple beingre-lo'd across country, and they HAVE to sell.  I consulted, and then went back to reclaim the basement.  They followed the chart, the realtor did NOT put a fire-sale price on the thing, and voila - it sold!  At once.            It just goes to show you that a well-priced house, in a good location, in great condition will sell and usually quickly.  Who was it said here, people buy houses.  They always will.  Sometimes more, sometimes less, but someone is always moving! _____________________________________________________________________________________ It was a good summer for us at Juliet Johnson Stag...

July was one of those busy month that many New Jersey Real Estate agents did not see coming.  Or was it busy for them?  From all the B@$%&ng and complaining I heard from many of them perhaps it was not such a busy month.  Other then the holiday weekend I know I was busy with clients.  Funny thing though, other real estate markets such as Summit New Jersey, & Chatham New Jersey put up big numbers when it came to sold and closed in July, but the South Orange New Jersey Real Estate market was only able to put up 16 home sales during the month. If you would like to take a look at the actual homes which sold and closed in South Orange New Jersey including the home addresses and the number of bedrooms bathrooms as well as the list price / sold price, check out the New Jersey real estate repor...

Sloppy Joes from Northern New Jersey are quite unique.  Beware, this is not your typical Sloppy Joe (a mess of ground beef in spicy tomato sauce on a bun.)  This succulent sandwich is piled high with all the fixins: including homemade slaw, thin sliced Rye, Swiss Cheese, Roast Beef, Turkey (roasted on site), and of course the secret-sauce Russian Dressing.   You can find them at many Essex, Morris and Union County deli's in Northern New Jersey...Just step off the train at most Midtown Direct Stops and ask for the closest deli. Immerse yourself in a truly Jersey experience and take a trip off the beaten path to Town Hall Deli in South Orange, your mouth will thank you for it!  Town Hall Delicatessen, 60 Valley Street, South Orange, New Jersey 07079; 973.762.4900; Monday-Friday 7AM-8PM; ...

The new edition of The Rebound in New Jersey Real Estate came out this week.  It showed that the Real Estate Market here in South Orange is slightly improving.  Is this the start of a trend?  We all hope so.  Likely a sign that a bottom has been reached.  The fall home selling season should be a improvment over the spring 2007 and early summer 2007 selling season.  The supply of homes on the market will likely shrink as the none serious home sellers give up on the prospect of selling and decide to wait for what they think will be a better time. Thinking of buying a home in the near future? Now is a great time to be a home buyer.  In South Orange New Jersey and surrounding communities there are plenty of homes on the market right now and many home sellers have realized that it truly is a ...
