For the month of February 2009 the following information was compiled from the Cape May County Board of Realtors MLS.  Information is deemed reliable but not guaranteed. Sea Isle City-  There were seven properties sold consisting of:  Three condos with an average price of $349,833 and 222 days on the market and four townhomes with an average price of $965,000 (one beachfront and the other properties were on Pleasure Avenue).  The average days on the market were 244 for townhomes. There are currently 26 homes under contract in Sea Isle City and 13 properties have sold year-to-date. The town of Strathmere is undertaking an $8 million beach fill project.  This is more than double the initial estimate of $3 million.  As part of the project Sea Isle City will be adding 400,000 cubic yards of sand to their beaches.  In Sea Isle City the rebuilt areas will include 1st to 15th street and 42nd to 52nd.  This year's project is Sea Isle City's first since a $4.2 million project back in 1999.  According to the Sea Isle City Mayor Leonard Desiderio, they are working to lobby the Army Corps of Engineers to include Sea Isle in routine projects.   It sounds like good news for home owners along the beaches that are being rebuilt.  It should help to further protect their investment.  If you are ready to make an investment in Sea Isle City, contact me.  01/24/2009

Hopefully it will not be as cold as today (16)  for the Polar Bear Plunge on February 14th.  The weekend starts on Friday night with the crowning of the King and Queen at 7 p.m.  The Main Street Market runs both Saturday from 10 to 8 p.m. with vendors and again on Sunday from 10 to 3 p.m.  The plunge is at 2 p.m. on Saturday and the costume contest awards will be held at 4 p.m.  There is a 5K run and a 1 mile walk on Sunday starting with registration at 10 for Autism and the walk at 11 a.m. All events are near JFK and Landis Avenue, Sea Isle City.
