This past weekend, a group of neighbors in the Ramsey Golf & Country Club hosted a burger cook-off. But it wasn’t merely just a couple of families showing off their burger recipes over a case of beer to win the bragging rights of being Ramsey Golf & Country Club’s grill master. No, this group of members took it upon themselves to make it a community event that benefited a worthy cause – the Max Cure Foundation for pediatric cancer causes – and raised more than $5000. The Be Brave Burger Throwdown had a tough road in seeing the light of day – literally. It was originally schedule on the last day of August but Hurricane Irene had other plans.   The Ramsey Golf & Country Club NJ Located in NW Bergen County, NJ, the Ramsey Golf & Country Club began as a 220 acre estate called, "Arlena Towers”in the early 1900s. The original mansion was of ancient Norman architecture and modeled after the famous Ramsey Abbey, erected in Hampshire, England, by King Edward the Elder around 900 A.D. In 1940, the estate was sold to National House and Farms Association. The residential development was named the Ramsey Country Club Estates. Each purchaser agreed to abide by the rules of the Club by accepting title and was issued a share of stock, a practice which is still in effect.   As we know from the recent release from the National Association of Realtors --- area real estate sales for Bergen County and the surrounding towns are UP! This may be contrary to some area of the country but once we draw down into the real data on a town by town basis --- we can see where the numbers are. Ramsey, for example, has over 81 active listings currently on the market for sale. This is based on single family residences only. And, over the last 6 months --- over 35 homes have either come under contract (25) or actual SOLDS (35).  These homes have sold within 4.58% of their asking price. I took this photo early this am along Darlington Road, Ramsey. So, while numbers crunching in other Bergen County Towns,  I thought it was time to visit the SALES Data to garner some insight into the sales picture for RAMSEY over the past 6 months for single family residences. I also included the last 6 months for the homes under contract or pending sale. From the chart below, you can see when homes are priced right.... they sell...some at the higher end of the price range...going into contract pretty quickly ( contrary to the media's point of view ).
