When I first started in Real Estate more than 7 years ago there was a little coffee shop/diner just down the road from the office.  The name of the place was Just Plain Dave's.  I'd gone there a few times over the years for breakfast or lunch.  The food was always good, but the place was small and cramped.  The site where the Just Plain Dave's used to be is going to be utilized for a CVS or some other chain store.  So Dave's needed a new home.  They found it at 956 Saint Georges Avenue in Rahway about 2 miles from their old location.  The other night Jean and I decideed to have dinner there before our weekly Sales Meeting.  Truth be told, I was looking forward to it.  I hadn't been to Dave's in a couple of years.   When we walked in I was blown away!  The place is beautifully decorated ...

Prices:  When Linden or Rahway homeowners are considering selling their homes, the average sale price in the area is an important factor to consider. As supply and demand fluctuate, so do sale prices of homes. Of course, there are other factors such as condition and location that affect the value of your home. The average sale price in Rahway and Linden in May of 2014 was $297,769, about even with last month.   Days on Market: Another factor to consider if you're thinking of selling your home is the length of time it takes to sell a home. Homes that are priced well and that are in good condition and easy to show will sell more quickly than homes that are over priced, outdated or poorly maintained, or difficult to show. The average length of time it took to sell a home in Rahway and L...

Having less than 5 months of supply is what real estate professionals call a sellers' market - there are more buyers than sellers and homes are selling quicker than they are put on the market. Rahway homeowners are ready to sell! Here are some things to consider before you list your home:   First, if there are any repairs necessary in your home, make them now, before you list the home. Things like dead light bulbs, leaky roofs, and broken windowsneed to be in working condition before you show your home.  Make any home improvements that will increase the value of your home - things like  a new front door, for example, will help to sell your home faster and will increase the price you get for your home.  Hire a real estate agent. Most sellers hire the first agent they interview, while others continue looking. However many agents you interview, you want to choose one that you trust. Of course, the agent will have a key to your home, but more importantly, they will be your repres...
