Is the Real Estate market in your area getting better, staying the same, or getting worse? As a New Jersey Realtor working the counties of Morris, Essex, & Union I pay very close attention to many of the towns in this area which I like to call the Midtown Direct Corridor.  What I am seeing is that slowly but for sure the markets in this area seem to be picking up.  Now keep in mind that we are still in a buyers market, the buyers still need to see a good value in a home before they are willing to purchase it, but they are now willing to purchase anyway. This weeks edition of the Rebound in New Jersey Real Estate came out yesterday and continues to show improvment as well.  If you would like to read the artical and the previous articles please be my guest.  Still watching the markets like ...

The newest edition of the "The Rebound In New Jersey Real Estate" has just come out.  There seems to be some evidence though anecdotal that the Real Estate Markets in Morris County, Essex County, & Union Counties in New Jersey are starting to improve a little.  They may just be the last rush to see if families can get into a different house before school starts, or it may be the buyers who have been out their for a while now finally deciding that interest rates have gone up enough to push them into making a decision. What are you seeing you your Market Area?? If you would like to read the report all you need to do is follow the link listed here: Real Estate Markets Rebound   About the Author James Boyer, Realtor is a real estate consultant specializing in Morris County Real Estate, He is...

 1. Wash the Exterior of Your Home - Renting a power washer for an afternoon or a day and wash the exterior of your home-both siding and windows- It can make a world of difference in your home's appearance.   While you have the power sprayer be sure to wash your front steps and walk.  You'll probably be surprised at just how much dirt has accumulated.2. Paint Exterior Trim and Doors - Painting your home's exterior door and window trim is an easy and cost effective way to spruce up your home. In most cases, painting the exterior of your home is probably not a cost effective home improvement if you are planning on moving in the near future, unless the paint looks very aged.3. Paint Interior Spaces in a Neutral Color - You may love the lavender and moss green color scheme, but chances are ...

Just wanted to point out that there is a interesting little Squidoo lens out there Great Morristown Home. It has a great house on it which is in Morris Township.  The house in many ways is over improved, and even though it is a 4 bedroom Colonial it is priced more like a 3 bedroom.  Do I need to say Value, This house reeks of value.  There is not one thing that needs to be done to move into this house.  The current owners have been meticulous about maintenance and upgrades.  There is a large public park just across the street from the house, as well as the community public poll just a block away.  This home is a must see. Call James Boyer for your private showing or for more information, 973-647-0253James Boyer, Realtor is a Real Estate consultant specializing in Maplewood, Madison, Cha...

The new edition of The Rebound in New Jersey Real Estate came out this week.  It showed that the Real Estate Market here in Morristown is slightly improving.  Is this the start of a trend?  We all hope so.  Likely a sign that a bottom has been reached. Thinking of buying a home in the near future? Now is a great time to be a home buyer.  In Morristown New Jersey and surrounding communities there are plenty of homes on the market right now and many home sellers have realized that it truly is a buyers market now and are ready to be reasonable in their expectations.  On top of that Mortgage rates remain low.Are you a investor? Now is likely the best time in years to be a investor buying property.  The home buyers who are out looking are mainly looking for that move in condition home,  I have...

MORRISTOWN -- With a small processing fee, residents now can pay property and sewer taxes from their computers by logging on to the town Web site, said Mayor Donald Cresitello. Homeowners can pay their tax and sewer bills online, located at http://www.townofmorristown.org/, using their checking account, savings account or credit card. Town officials said the online payments will be secure. Residents will need all pertinent information on hand during the transaction. The Web site has tabs marked "sewer payments" and "tax payments" for which residents can click on to make the corresponding payments. At this time only payments via a credit card, checking and saving accounts are accepted. Payments made before midnight on weekdays get that day's date as the current date. If the payment is ma...

Hi Everyone, Realtor.com has launched their blog platform now.  They just sent me my user ID and Password yesterday so I thought I would give it a try.  It is very different than Active Rain, and it is my feeling that they need to give the whole thing more link juice from the Realtor.com domain to make it better.  The look and feel are very good. Check it out:  http://jboyer.featuredblog.com/  It really is nice looking anyway!! I posted my first blog there just to see how things went.  I will report back sometime in the near future to let you know if I was able to find the blog in the search engine results. James Boyer, Realtor is a real estate consultant specializing in Morristown Real Estate, Parsippany Real Estate and Chatham NJ Real Estate. The new edition of The Rebound In New Jersey Real Estate , is out.  It is a continuing series on the Real Estate Market conditions in 10 popular Towns along the Midtown Direct Train line.  Conditions for Morristown seem to be steady to slightly improving though the change over time has been ever so slight as time passes things could so easily go the other direction. If you are thinking about trading up (buying a home which is bigger and in a higher price range that your current home), now is the time.  Mortgage interest rates are still very low compared to historic averages, and the lower price category homes are still selling well.  At this point in time you can get your lower priced home sold for a nice profit and purchase your next home for a very healthy discount over what you likely...

This is a guest blog from James T Boyer , another great real estate professional on Active Rain.  Definitely worth reading!  Morristown is on the move.  With it’s great downtown, the central green, the wonderful architecture, and even the new developments at the Residences at Vail Mansion (70% sold out as of June 21st 2007) and other projects in the works, Morristown promises to be even better over the next few years.  The Morristown downtown will remind you of those classic downtowns you would see in the 1950’s and it really is like that.  Visit your Morristown hometown real estate specialist James Boyer at Morristown Real Estate.   You can also visit James Boyer at Morris County Real Estate.  When you have Real Estate advice or just need a great Realtor with in depth knowledge of the ...

Morristown Real Estate report for June 17 2007As of today there were 58 homes under contract in Morristown and 150 homes on the market.  Though the market is still soft, homes are selling, and prices are not falling though the floor. To sell a home in this kind of market the best approch seems to be as follows:Look at the most comparable sold listings within several miles of the home that is about to be put on the market.  Adjust for things such as busy or not busy roads, desirability of the neighborhood if that is a factor, how up to date the homes are, and the other normal things that we as Realtors do to estimate what a ready and willing buyer would likly pay for a home.  Once that has been done, the next step seems a little counter intuitive to many but works quite well.  Set the pri...
