Capturing Memories with Photography – Anyone Can do it! As some of you know, I love photography which comes in very handy as a NJ home stager, capturing the highest quality MLS photos for my clients. In the last few months I noticed the quality of my pictures were declining and it was time for a new camera.   For Christmas, my husband Marty gave me a new NikonD3200, and it’s my favorite camera yet. Truth be told, I’m not the most patient person and like to snap and go. I’m not a camera wiz by any means. However, I do know a good shot when I see one... It’s rare that we have snow in North, NJ for Christmas so I capitalized on Mother Nature’s magical gift of a pristine, winter wonderland with my new camera. Getting outdoors and visiting nearby parks was so peaceful and quiet, it was a gi...

Morristown Agway: Voted #1 Garden Center in Morris County I wasn’t surprised when I learned that Morristown Agway Garden Center was voted number 1 in all of Morris County, NJ. They have a huge selection of plants, shrubs, trees, annual and perennial flowers along with pots and urns and  every product necessary to maintain a healthy garden and lawn. By my second visit to Agway, Chuck Stoviak, the Nursery Manager introduced himself and has been helping me build my 4 year garden ever since. Whenever I stop by to pick up more flowers and garden products (which is often) Chuck is always there answering all my questions, helping me with all my gardening needs, including getting all my purchases into my car. Three weekend ago, I had an opportunity to host an open house for a fabulous new listing in Morris Township, New Jersey.  The home came on the market on Friday, I did the first open house on Sunday.  By the next morning, the home had three offers and is now under contract. Two weekends ago, I had an opportunity to host an open house for another great new listing - this time in Parsippany.  The home came on the market the Thursday before I did the open house.  This home is now under contract. What makes these homes so special that they received offers in no time while others languish on the the market for months, even years?  It first begins with effective pricing - not only from the agent relaying the importance of making sure the home is priced right from the beginning, but also from the...

Spring is officially here!  Not only are you seeing the signs of Spring with the daffodils and flowering trees blooming, but you definitely see an increase in the number of open houses on the weekend.  Open houses can be a positive - and some say, vital - part of marketing a home for sale.   When I first began my real estate career, I will admit, I thought (and sometimes, occasionally do) that open houses are ineffective.  But, as a proceeded in my career I found out not only be effective but I found out I can actually sell homes! I think that holding and effective open house begins with two critical items:  1) Having the mindset of where, first and foremost, to sell the property I am hosting 2) Necessary preparation Without these two items, I notice that my open houses, unfortunately...

Have you ever typed your name in a search engine to see what comes up? Ever been surprised by the results? Prior to starting in the real estate business, I really didn’t care what might have been on Google, Yahoo or any other search engine about me (because there was probably not much on the internet). But now that I am more proactive with establishing not only a web presence, but a business, I decided to review how my SEO & marketing efforts are going. I recently did a Google search of my name to see what came up and imagine my surprise I saw….Backwoods Thickness! What (or who) is Backwoods Thickness? Backwoods Thickness is the moniker for a lovely lady who happens to have a dating advertisement on a website. Not only does she have the same name as me, but is the same age as I am. Imag...

Morris County Stager: The 10 Most Important, Cost-Effective, Fixes When Selling Your Home ! As a Morris County Home Stager, I've compiled a list of the most important tasks to complete before putting your home on the market... 1. Master bedrooms and baths should appeal to both sexes - if yours is gender specific, balance it with some masculine/ feminine accessories - pillows, art, greenery, a well placed throw and use neutral bedding - your grandmother's homemade quilt isn't going to cut it!   2.  Walk through each room as if you were a buyer  - can you move freely about? If not, open up the space by eliminating excess furniture to create easy traffic flow. when selling - less is always more! 3. If possible rent a small local storage space to put excess furniture, personal items, knickk...

The Metropolitan at 40 Park...Live on the Green, Take on the Town.  Last week I wrote about the immenent rollout of five new models at 40 Park. Having previewed these stunning residences today, its evident why this Community has garnered highest accolades: the Pillars of the Industry Award, recognized as the "Best Mid-Rise Condominium Community" in the nation!   This redevelopment was the genius of Roseland Property Company and Woodmont Properties from conception to completion. Set perfectly in the heart of Morristown, these glorious residences feature 30 unique floor plans from 825 to over 3200 square feet.  Further, all 13 penthouses are completely unique in design! I had the privilege of previewing Penthouse #607 (among the five other models), a 2,580 square foot dream home, with 2 b...
