  Linden’s real estate market is improving at a slow and steady pace.  Unfortunately, there are still a large number of distressed properties – short sales, pre-foreclosures, and foreclosures – and this has a negative impact on the real estate market.  But, as the distressed properties clear off the market, the progress will be more obvious. Conventional wisdom holds that it's a bad idea to list your home for sale in the winter. Many prospective home sellers are waiting, some patiently, for April so that they can list their homes with the rest of the crowds.I don't think that's a good idea, and here's why.Linden, like every town in Union County, typically has a lower inventory in the winter than in the spring.
