The long and often spirited battle for the Merrimack new mall is over...Trees have been cut and the project is moving forward...A groundbreaking ceremony was held in September for the new project.... The project site is located off of Industrial Drive, near its intersection with Continental Boulevard, and is immediately adjacent to Exit 10 of the F.E. Everett Turnpike. The  Merrimack Premium Outlets, a $100 million complex of retail and home-goods stores, is to be the home of around 100 premium outlets. The company expects to open in 2012.  Officials have not announced names of stores as yet, I assume they are awaiting confirmed and signed leases. We are excited about another wonderful shopping opportunity in our area...and we welcome the fact that its different than the traditional mal...

Six Selling Myths Uncovered   Myth #1:  You should always price your home high and negotiate down.    Truth:  Pricing too high can be as bad as pricing too low.   If you list too high, you'll miss out on buyers looking in the price range where your home should be.  Offers may not even come in, because buyers who are interested in your home are scared off by the price and won't even take the time to look at it.  By the time you correct the price and list your home at its fair market value, you will have lost that window of opportunity when your home draws the most attention from the public and real estate agents; i.e. the first 30 days that it is on the market.  A well-trained real estate agent who looks out for your best interests will consult with you on your home's fair market value a...

It takes more work and effort to get your house sold, especially when you compare the present market to where it was just a few years back. There are a few things that you need to do in order to get your house sold in a timely manner and for top dollar. First off, de-cluttering and your house is going to open up the house and make it feel even more spacious than it was to begin with, as well as make it more appealing to buyers. Majority of home buyers cannot see past the clutter in any home. This includes all personal belongings as well (such as family pictures) that you are displayed throughout the house. Any personal items that could be seen by a potential buyer should be put out of sight. By not doing this, your chances of successfully selling your house decreases significantly. Buye...

Consider these tips when planning to build your DIY deck. Size How much space can you really commit to a deck? Look at the layout of your house and yard, including your driveway and garage, gardens, trees and rocks, and anything else on your property. While you may envision a giant deck that can hold many tables for entertaining, you might only have room for a narrow deck that wraps close to your house. Be realistic about what styles and sizes are going to work best for you. Legality Since a deck is considered an addition to your home, there are zoning laws that you will need to follow. Before you plan or design your deck, get copies of local zoning laws, as well as any covenants your neighborhood may have. You should also know the location of any utility lines-such as underground elect...

You may be wondering why you would buy a house that needs a little bit of rehab. Sure, houses that are move-in ready don't have the problems that a fixer-upper might - like an old roof, a dilapidated porch, or dirty shag carpeting. They might be in good condition by all appearances and appraisals with the little luxuries that make new houses appealing. However, fixer-uppers are often the better choice in so many ways. Price The most obvious advantage to purchasing a house that needs work is the price. Often, the price will reflect neglect and necessary repairs. Purchasers may even be able to negotiate a selling price lower than list price of the house depending upon how motivated the seller is. Quality Your fixer-upper might be one of those charming old houses that has stood for a hundr...

Keeping your house safe and secure is very important.  You may not realize it, but there are cheap and foolproof ways to protect your home against burglars and home invasions.  The list below shows some ways to keep your house secured. 1. Choose a safe neighborhood.  Do your research by asking the police department about the level of crime rate in a certain neighborhood. Lock your doors.  Check the doors and windows before going to bed at night.  Never let the kids answer the door to uninvited strangers and do not leave the spare key to your house under the door mat or flowerpot.  These are simple tips but they will surely help keep your house safe. 3.  Upgrade doors and windows i...
