NATIONAL MARKETING REALTORS is a big name for a local company. NMR was conceived in Minot in 1975 and has been in the same location on North Hill all along (longer in one spot than any other Minot Real Estate Brokerage). Locally owned, selling Local homes and Local commercial Real Estate. So how did we get such a big name? For 40 years we have focused on selling Minot homes Nationally, not just locally to folks driving around looking for yard signs. Even prior to the internet National Marketing Realtors has looked for ways to let the World know... Your Home Is For Sale! If you are looking for a Realtor who thinks BIG when it comes to selling your home think National!

REWARD!A dump trailer, similar to the one pictured to the left, was stolen last night from #9 NE 11th Ave in Minot ND. There is a reward for information leading to the arrest of those involved in stealing the trailer. The trailer was locked and full of trash at the time of the theft. A few power tools were also stolen at the same time. The materials were stolen from the property in BLUE. This is not the 1st theft at this site. Earlier this year several tools were stolen including a large generator. Oddly enough there were tracks in the snow from that stolen generator to #2 NW 11th Ave (a highly suspected DRUG house) but even with the tracks in the snow before them the Minot Police Department was unable to solve that crime. If you can help us find the stolen trailer maybe we can stop thes...

My Bride left our carrot crop in the ground. I think I pulled one or two scrawny ones out of the ground over the summer. She said you are supposed to wait for the first freeze before pulling them. Had it been me I would have declared crop failure about two months ago. As it turns out I think the right answer is/was some where in between Fall and freezing. From tip to top this big boy was over two feet tall and had a 9" circumference.Patience, in this case, lead to a harvest of some pretty big carrots.Patience in Real Estate is also a good thing. Very rarely do properties sell "fast" unless you are in a hot market AND you are priced right (it takes one or the other and sometimes both).Western North Dakota had a "Hot" market with the oil boom, today... not so hot. Average days on the mark...

We had only 16 closings this week, far better than the 9 of last week. Of the homes that closed this week the average days on market was 140 days (nothing to be alarmed about as this number is a bit skewed being one of the homes was on the market for about two years). The chart above is the total MLS activity for the week. This includes ALL types of properties as well as all cities in our MLS. The chart below is very restrictive as explained below. Be sure to note the line above as this is a very restrictive report. There were only 16 homes sold in this limited category. The most expensive home sold for $381,900 and it was on the market for 78 days. The least expensive home sold for $30,000 and it was on the market for 136 days (this was an unrestored flood home).  Average days on marke...

NOPE!Not even sure if I placed in the top 50%. But the chili cook-off was a great success as a fund raiser for my daughter, Tina Timm, to pay for her missionary trip to Chile this coming November. In addition to the chili a silent auction was also held. I want to say a big thank you to all who participated in both the chili cook-off and the auction to help Tina get to Chile. If you would like to help Tina make the trip to Chile please visit her gofundme.com page. Any contribution, even a dollar, would be appreciated.

We had only 9 closings this week, same as last week. Of the homes that closed this week the average days on market was 120 days (moving the wrong direction from 110 days last week and yet slightly better than the 126 the week before that). The chart above is the total MLS activity for the week. This includes ALL types of properties as well as all cities in our MLS. The chart below is very restrictive as explained below. Be sure to note the line above as this is a very restrictive report. There were only 9 homes sold in this limited category. The most expensive home sold for $539,900 and it was on the market for 179 days. The least expensive home sold for $119,900 and it was on the market for 87 days.  Average days on market for the 9 homes sold was 120, a slip backwards from 110 last we...

The weatherman just announced possible freezing in some areas of North Dakota tonight. What could be better than a bowl of Chili on a chilly day?I can't promise the weather will be chilly this coming Sunday, September 18th but I can promise you a GREAT bowl of chili from 10:30 AM until it's all gone.I've challenged my wife to see who can make the best bowl of chili (actually best vat of chili would be more accurate) and there should be about 8 more challengers entered into the mix.In addition to the chili there will be a silent auction, photo booth, T-shirts for sale and more. The chili is FREE but it's all part of a fundraiser to send 16 year old Tina Timm and 17 year old Taylor Benno on a missionary trip to Chile this November.EVERYONE IS WELCOME! It all happens this Sunday starting a...

Good news and bad news to report in last weeks sales figures. We had a huge DIVE this week with only 9 closings compared to last week’s 19 closings (the most in a week this year). Of the homes that closed this week the average days on market was 110 days (moving the right direction from 126 days last week). The chart above is the total MLS activity for the week. This includes ALL types of properties as well as all cities in our MLS. The chart below is very restrictive as explained below. Be sure to note the line above as this is a very restrictive report. Minot North Dakota is nestled in the Mouse River Valley. This picture is taken from the "North Hill" location of the Grand Hotel. The City long out grew the Valley itself and spread across the plain and through the many scenic Coulees around the Valley. No matter where you are in Minot a beautiful view is very near by.This picture was taken no more than 2 city blocks away from the picture above. The Coulees running all through town provide a wonderful safe haven for deer, pheasants, wild turkeys and more. Western North Dakota is a sportsman's paradise. The Minot Air Force Base is located just North of Minot ND. The Base makes Minot a more diverse community, possibly the most diverse community in North Dakota. The Minot Air Force base adds greatly to Minot's economy as they are a great em...

This is an appeal to my Christian friends on Active Rain or anyone else who would like to help my 16 year old daughter go on a mission trip to Chile this November. Is a wonderful website where you can post a financial need and like minded folks can come to your financial aid to help. Here is Tina's plea: I'm a 16 year old girl dedicated to Jesus Christ and I have been asked to join my church’s mission trip to Chile this fall. The trip to go there is expensive at $2,800 and I would love to have your help to fund me. This trip is sponsored by the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. I will be going on November 4th, 2016. As a third year Spanish student, I also see this a great learning experience. Any donation of any size would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to help her out try this li...

National Marketing Realtors is proud to be one of four sponsors ofParty In The ParkAn event organized to highlight Minot's Backpack Buddies program. The Backpack Buddies program started at Sunnyside Elementary School in Minot (where my Bride teaches). Teachers and parents concerned that some students coming to school on Monday were coming hungry because they had not eaten all weekend. Irregardless of why they were not being feed these loving teachers and parents wanted to be sure those children had something to eat over the weekend. The program quickly spread to all of the Minot elementary schools.National Marketing Realtors is very proud to co-sponsor this event to bring awareness to the Backpack Buddies program along with Michael Buseth of the Michael Buseth Agency Farmers Insurance, N...

Soo 735 was long over due for a professional make-over. I couldn't tell you how many years the old gal was in service but according to the little monument next to her she has been resting on this very short piece of rail for 60 years.Soo 735 did have a nearly worthless make-over by some real amateurs a few years back that did nothing more than dump gallons and gallons of paint on her. She looked OK for a short time and it made her smell good ... for an even shorter time. They just painted right over the rust. As you can see it came back with a vengeance!I think they are serious about it this time just by looking at the enclosure they are building around it. I hope they give her sandblast shower and get all the rust off so she will be as stunning as she was when she first rolled out of ...

Coming up very soon I and four other business owners are having a Customer Appreciation Event. We decided to make it an outdoor event in Oak Park, Minot's largest and most popular park. I will post more about the event it self very soon. For each stack of literature I have I'm going to put one of these little banks on it, each holding about $3.00 in coins. At the end of the event I will pick names from an "entry box" and a dozen or so winners will each get a bank. I don't normally do hand-outs but I thought this was a good idea. Unlike a lot of advertising I believe this item will sit around the house for years and bring happy thoughts to the recipients who won them! That's my plan and I'm sticking to it!

All of my social media friends know how proud I am of my kids. I’ve got another proud moment to share with you about Tina, my 16 year old daughter. Rev. Rick Jones, the Chaplin at North Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, Minot ND, is heading up a mission trip to Chile and asked two High School students from our church to join his group, Taylor Benno and Tina Timm (my daughter). The trip will be in November so Tina and Taylor will miss 10 days of school but what a GREAT opportunity! Tina and Taylor both have big hearts for ministry and I’ve know since Tina was born that she was/is destined to make a difference in this world. This will also be a wonderful opportunity for Tina to put to use her two years of Spanish. Now let the fundraising begin. This trip is paid for by the individuals going on...

Fairly often I am asked if I'm Bruce Willis. What would Bruce Willis be doing in Minot ND. Now we do see Josh Duhamel and even Ferggie here once in awhile walking down the street but Josh was born and raised here in Minot ND. Not Bruce. As you can see from these side by side photos I don't even remotely resemble Bruce Willis.     See! Not even remotely alike. So, when you walk into National Marketing Realtors in Minot ND know for sure thgat Bob Timm is the Broker/Owner, not Bruce Willis.

Very few North Dakotian's complain about the length of our summers. Most, like myself, dread seeing these signs of it's demise. The two pictures following were taken in my yard/garden.   All to soon I/we will be seeing  this scene...The last few evenings have been in the 50's and just a 100 miles South of us in the Capital City of Bismarck it's been as low as the 40's. The Fall brings wide swings, like the projected high of 98 for Monday. It looks like summer is comming to a close, say it isn't so!
