Yesterday's on the air episode of Minot Today was my personal Thanksgiving eposode and the conclusion of two years of the radio program. NO I'm not going anywhere I will be back next Friday with the first episode of year three. My 3rd year anniversary show features the return of Darrell Handlesman the General Manager of the Souris Valley Sabre Dogs! If you remember the first visit with Darrell then you remember that it was without a doubt one of the most exciting and inspiring episodes we've broadcast.I am very Thankful for KHRT Radio for taking a chance with my radio show even though I had had no prior radio experience. I am thankful that the listeners didn't change the dial when I came on the air and infact called the station with their approval.Minot Today is broadcast over two radio...

Barney would probably say "Comply with This!" My neighborhood has had to deal with a jerk who has strong political connections and he seems to continue to get away with what ever he wants regardless of who is elected to what. The property he owns is a commercial property surrounded by residential properties. There isn't a home owner who's land that boarders his that can't stand the crap he pulls off... yet he seems to be able to pull off what ever he wants. One person in the City I can count on is our Mayor, Shaun Sipma. Shaun is a good friend. He ran on reform and he has done a good job but he still has some tough cookies to deal with who still kowtow to jerks like our commercial neighbor.Check out this sidewalk. The freezing temps have killed off the weeds that were nearly knee high but ...

Friday's radio interview on Minot Today was with Rianne Kuhn from VisitMinot.org our Convention and Visitors Bureau. Rianne Kuhn of Visit Minot is VERY active in the community and does a wonderful job of promoting everything Minot. Unlike the Chamber of Commerce, Visit Minot does NOT charge a membership fee and they want to promote everybody/thing in Minot. Regular readers of my blog know that I used to post all the events happening in Minot, Visit Minot was a huge help to me when I did that as they usually have about 10 events posted for every day. Minot Today is broadcast over the air every Friday by two minot radio stations. You can listen in live on 106.9 FM at 12:15 (over the lunch hour) and on 1320 AM at 4:45 PM. At the risk of upsetting a couple of friends I have a mini-rant about the cat owners in my South East Minot neighborhood. Lets be clear about one thing: Minot has a leash law that pertains to BOTH dogs and cats! If I catch your cat in my yard it is not going to be returned to you. You can tell your kids that Fluffy is not coming back because YOU disregarded the law and let Fluffy out without putting him/her on a leash. My Bunny yesterdayMy bunny todayRant over.

Two weeks ago my interview with a foster parent and the agency (PATH) that runs the program went over the air and was posted here as well BUT one of the microphones failed as we continued beyond the 15 minutes of air time. It took a lot of editing to make "part 2" airable but here it is. Sorry for the delay. Minot Today is broadcast over two radio stations every Friday. You can find it at 106.9 FM at 12:15 (Noonish) and again at 4:45 on 1320 AM. Of course I always post the broadcast as a Podcast here as well as my Podcast site at Pod-O-Matic.

I brought my camera along on my evening walk tonight and decided I'd take a few shots of some of the neighborhood homes.        The two shots above were taken in my yard. The ghost and pumpkin are being projected by a heavy duty projector I picked up at a thrift store. The house on the left was scary because that light up in the window is a Eagles fan sign. The house on the right is a daycare and they usually have a yard full of decorations no matter what the season. What I liked about the one above was the lightning on the right. It changed regularly and was very realistic.

Just a few feet into Minot's Oak Park is one of my favorite sculptures. As far as I know it is untitled being I could not locate a plaque for it. If it were up to me to name it I would name it "Children and Butterflies"Here is a picture of the Oak Park Amphitheater. I took one of the side because of the nice color of the foliage planted beside it.Last of all here is a prayer that is posted at the beginning of one of the park trails.

It's a great wall but it's NOT "The" Great Wall.It took 20 years to build The Great Wall of China. Once they got started on the retaining wall at 9 11th Ave NE Minot North Dakota it took about three weeks. Now that it's up the contractor can get a Certificate of Occupancy and some lucky home buyer can purchase the home and move in. This is a great home and has served as my office for about 6 months.           I'm not looking forward to moving my office but to think of the joy this home will bring someone soon is all worth it.

For many years I would have one or two rummage sales a year. I did it to get rid of some stuff, make a little money, visit with people and just to enjoy engaging in a little retail.I have not found the time to hold a rummage sale for a couple of years now and with winter upon us I've decided to take my rummage sale on line. When I do I will be using eBay and iOffer.comI have not started my rummage sale yet BUT I have put my sons book on these two sites. Once I get going I will be listing typical rummage sale items, house hold and office. Some items will be to large to ship so those will be sold on one or more local sites.I've used eBay almost as long as it has existed and I've always had good luck with it. I'm fairly new to iOffer so we will see how that goes... yes I will report back.

Answering the challenge:My October 2018 update your profile challenge....by Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®,CRS, The picture to the left is the one you have been looking at for about a year as my profile pic and it is time for it to go. Not that it's all that out dated, it's just that it wasn't that good of a picture in the first place. I obviously took it my self which is not bad in it's self ( I was a professional photographer in one of my many past lives) but it was taken with a used $3.00 web cam and no backdrop. I was actually setting things up for short video blog posts and decided this still was better then the profile pic I was using at that time.My new profile pic was taken by the same photographer (Me) and I'm wearing a shirt that bears the logo of  the radio station I love and br...

Tell us exactly what you want and we will build it for you!No skeletons in the closet, no bats in the belfry.Your new home will be ghoul free and ready for you to write the fairy tale story of your love for each other and your family.Thanksgiving Gobble up a great deal on a custom home. One the radio broadcast of Minot Today my guest is Louis (Mac) McLeod, Executive Director of the Minot Coalition, Inc.. What a timely subject! The homeless in Minot ND are not as visible as they are in many other cities but they are here. Learn what you can do to help those in need in our community. Today's radio broadcast with Louis (Mac) McLeod is very informative. After listening you can find the Minot Area Homeless Coalition on FB or call Mac at 701-852-6300. I've mentioned several times in the past how Minot is so blessed to have the Minot Air Force Base as a neighbor. It not only is a big financial help to the City but MORE important is the quality of people the base brings here and often these folks stay here because they appreciate the quality of life here in Minot ND.Louis (Mac...

This home is very close to the model home that serves as my office. I've appreciated their "garden yard" all summer and I have to say THIS IS CURB APPEAL!I actually walked over just to photograph the maple tree being we have so few trees that have changed to red this fall. I wanted to capture this one while most of the leaves were still attached to the tree.

With the BIG boys out of business (Toy's R Us and Kay Bee Toys) where do you find cool and unique toys in Minot North Dakota???  Natures nook Children's Toys & Books is where your treasure is.You will find Nature's nook on North Hill at 1700 21st Ave. NW, Suite B Minot NDTimmothy's 2nd book signing was here today and I'm happy to say things went well. I have to say that the owners of Nature's nook, Dave & Deb Peery, were wonderful hosts. They greeted people at the door and immediately directed them to "the Guest Artist" Timmothy Timm. When they were not busy directing traffic Timmothy's way we had a lot of fun swapping stories of our youth as well as experiences we have had since moving to Minot ND.I stopped at the printers on Friday to see how the 2nd printing of 100 books is coming and...

If you missed Timmothy's first book signing last Saturday we hope you will come see him this Saturday at Nature's nook Children's Toys & Books at 1700 21st Ave, NW Suite B (next to Caribou Coffee) Minot ND. Timmothy will be personalizing and signing books as well as demonstrating his craft by writing and illustrating his comic strip between signings. Timmothy Timm is a 16 year old young man with high functioning autism. He has been writing about the adventures of Titus & Philemon, two guinea pigs, and their friend Joe for about 3 years now.
