What a busy season !Although the weather has not always been cooperative, Greenville NC has experienced a sellers market since the new year. Our median has been 250,000 range and anything under that has been quick to sell. Multiple offer situation have been handled with care and it of course is not fun to deliver news that someone beat your bid. Hiring an agent with negotiation skills, ability to present and honing offer to be in best light is a strategy- not a promise, but a strategy. If you do not win the bid consider a few thoughs as you take the news. Were you emotionally attached and willing to pay more than fair market since this cycle would be shifting at some point and your highest bid could be higher than what a buyers market would offer in later time. Paying too much. Also con...

Spent the good part of today with a new MEDICAL RESIDENTS  coming to ECU- Vidant / Brody School of Medicine. This time of year the upcoming residents have been selected and are headed into town to buy a home, townhouse, or condo for their relocation to Greenville NC.  Today I had the pleasure of working with an emergency medicine resident who drove all night to get to town so he could secure housing before the rush began ! We looked at a handful of properties and made a selection ! Medical residents have the benefit of being offered a 100% resident/ doctor loan while some chose to use the 100% first time home buyer program. Obviously the educated choice is to buy vs. rent ! If you are a medical student relocating to Greenville , NC it would be my pleasure to discuss options with you even...

The Pitt County NC market has started with a flurry of buyers. Could it be the unusual short winter  ? Have there been pent up buyers waiting for the election to be over  ?? Dare I say our Spring market has sprung !!!? Whatever the reason, I urge you to call me if you are looking to sell your home anytime soon !Waiting may cost you money ! With the results I've seen, I can tell you that there is not enough inventory on the market and your home could benefit from this current ( possibly short lived ) sellers market !                                 Pending in three weeks.....                   Pending in less than 3 weeks.......                                                                Pending in one week.....                                                   Pending in three days !...

I love having clients this time of year buying or selling their home here in Eastern NC. The holidays tend to be a bit slower and I often correlate that with the time change. I also think homes tend to be decorated and personalized a bit more this time of year as well.....but, I also know the competition is low this time of year. This to me is a great time to sell..or buy. For sellers the buyers that come through are more serious and you have less competition meaning your odds for a sale is increased. For buyers you will find that the motivated sellers are on the market. Prices may be more appealing and sellers are seeing less activity so your visit is important to them. If you are looking to buy or sell , I would love the opportunity to show you what the market offers and how to negotia...

The Camellia is a great flowering bush that offers a few petal colors...and a lovely bloom similar to a rose !I love this hardy plant/tree as it does well with very , very little care. The dark green foliage is great for arrangements as well. I would note that the deer love the taste of these so if you are in a location where deer roam , use a chicken wire or organic protection to deter them from munching from the ground up ! I once drove up into our driveway at our beach house and found our trees in full bloom, typically from top to ground..but this time it was eaten 25% way up ! This is a great bloom to pull from base and float in a dish with a few buds and blossoms or to snip and collect with greenery for a casual arrangement in the home.  Very subtle scent and typically bug free. Th...

As a Greenville NC resident Ive been able to witness not one 100+Yr Flood but TWO.  Floyd in 1999 was a catastrophic event that caught Eastern NC off guard. This event did teach important lessons to first responders, home owners, businesses, and government officials of how to prepare for any such event in the future...which occurred last week as the Tar River crested 12+ feet over flood level. As the waters start receding this week it is important to continue the outreach that was witnessed during the crisis. There are still many returning home to devastation and ruin. The schools are still trying to open. The roads are still closed due to erosion and collapse. I am going to use this post to add current event to help the community rally together and restore our town because we are #Green...

10-9-16 @ 10 amHistory is possibly preparing to repeat itself here in Greenville NC. #hurricaneMatthew #NCFlooding #GreenvilleNCStrongBack in 1999 when Eastern NC was hit with Hurricane Floyd ( and Dennis just prior) -"The Flood of The Century ". The water was also documented as a 500 yr flood level in some parts of our region.  I was living here during that time and experienced it first hand to understand the urgency and threat it posed as the Tar River crested and flooded alot of Eastern NC.  There were 35 deaths, and it left thousands without a home here in Pitt County . It took a community to come together to not only lift our spirits but to lend a hand to survive the following two weeks of being without water or power. Hurricane Matthew 2016 passed our coast yesterday and all of l...

Wow, it has been a wide open busy week here in Eastern NC. As much as I love the thrill of selling homes, I can find myself working long hours.        Today, well tonight at dinner time, I took the dogs out as I got home.My loyal and beautiful cardinal ( the one I claim as my personal pet) was in the trees serenading me as I walked the yard with the dogs....and then , as to tell me to take a break and enjoy the moment, he flew to my rooftop to sing for me !!! What a blessing and reminder to slow down once in a while !  Here are the pics I snapped !                                                            photos property of Michele Connors  Update for 4-22-16 Earth Day : “Our Earth needs constant concern and attention. Each of us has a personal responsibility to care for creation, this...

Today I will let you in on a little secret.....There is this "hole in the wall " diner off the highway in an older building that most folks drive by daily but have no idea of the gem that is located inside !!Mario's Tacos( directions)* The old Lupton Building Pic: our plates today    Took my daughter here today.. we love the authenticity of the food. It is fresh and made to order. The prices are cheap and the flavors will surprise you ! We both got steak tacos .. They have a self serve bar for the sauces. That carrot- oh my, the heat level is insane, but in a good way ! Staff is friendly and the diner is part of a ethnic grocery for purchasing spices, corn flour, dried beans and miscellaneous imports from Mexico.  My son hooked us on this place a few years ago and then I went to a din...
