We were out exploring Asheville horse farm lands with clients last week. This is the fifth tour for us. But each time we get a little closer to finding the "perfect" property. It's not easy when you love horses as much as our clients, do. I keep telling them HORSES LOVE GREEN ASHEVILLE, but they are used to the "flatlands" of FLorida . Possibly they worry that horses will be terrified of the terrain. I took a picture of that "terrain" last week. It doesn't look all THAT scarey to me... and I have corroboration from horse-pals who live here. They nicker and snort and tell me they love the HILLS and horse farms around Asheville. \/ Take a look at this photo. Do you find that people tend to get engrossed in their own "thing"?  It is easy to forget the Carolina Bluesky..and all that  lies beyond including the heartbeat of the community. I just looked at the work Diane Aurit did in her community, and felt comforted to know that the tremble of widespread discomfort is somehow softened because she engages the hopes and dreams of others. We are Double (maybe triple)  Lucky to be "GREEN" Buyers' Brokers here in Asheville, NC.  I say this for two (or three) reasons. First-we are lucky because not only are we located in one of the most beautiful places in the world, but, to our great advantage, Second-our eco-friendly clients recognize this. Third- (and we are VERY lucky in this regard) it seems that our clients already appreciate how much green features and environmental solutions benefit them. Most of the folks we get to work with place a very high value their environment (both personal and in general) and on wellness. The benefits, such as the dollar savings, energy savings, comfort, and/or health-related benefits of green features are NOT lost on them! We were out looking at land for a client today. The family plans to build three homes on the property they select. The homes will be placed in a portion of the land. The majority of the land will be conserved. We have been lucky over the past years to be a part of such conservation real estate stories.  (photo taken on 35+ AC parcel near Asheville, NC. January 1, 2009) I got to wondering today just how much LAND we have brokered. I am going to back into my records and will let you know. But my guestimate is around 5,000++ acres. Have you ever heard the saying "the universe is conspiring against me"? Well, don't believe it. The universe is conspiring in your favour, if you can recognize it.
