As the fall season approaches so do fun activities for family and friends. Here are a few questions for you... Do you like corn fields?   Can you imagine 10 foot high corn stalks?   Can you imagine finding your way through a 7 acre corn maze surrounded by 10 foot high corn stalks? If you said yes to any of these questions then you need to check out Rural Hill.  This beautiful farm is named Rural Hill and this is where you will find "The Amazing Maize Maze." Check it out and have fun! Here is an example of a previous maze that they did at Rural Hill. It will be interesting to see what they have planned for this year.  All I can say is...wear comfortable shoes! 2004's maze at Rural Hill commemorated the Revolutionary War Battle of Cowan's Ford with a maze dubbed "Cannons on the Catawba." ...

Property Management Lake Norman Region to Uptown Charlotte, NC. Times are tough for homeowners. Sky-high gas prices. Weak job growth. Record foreclosures. The evidence is everywhere, and it's making home ownership more difficult than it has been in years. Even with a faltering real estate market, however, rentals are flourishing, according to Condo.com, a National based Web site that is counting more and more rental properties among its condominium listings. "The credit crisis has made it virtually impossible in some markets to get financed for a mortgage," he says. "Because of that issue in the for-sale market, you're seeing a lot of demand in the rental market." Tenants are looking for more than a roof over their heads. Lake and Town Realty prides ourselves on giving great customer s...

Residents living in Mecklenburg County, NC have gone years without new assessments and property taxes. This certainly is not a good time to be raising anyone's taxes but they are coming. I still believe that North Carolina is still a very affordable place to live. I have clients who live in New Jersey and pay close to $8000/year for a 1200 sq ft home. On my home in Huntersville NC which is in Mecklenburg County I pay just over $3000/year. I am very comfortable to be paying that amount for the tremendous schools, parks and other amenities in the north Charlotte area. Mecklenburg County commissioners will soon debate where to set next year's property tax rate. Some residents say the rate should be lowered by five pennies to the so-called "revenue-neutral" rate to reflect the overall rise...

While I was out previewing homes for a buyer late last week in Huntersville NC's Wynfield neighborhood this was the beautiful springtime scene that greeted me along Wynfield Creek Parkway.  Simply gorgeous! This time of year is one of my favorites in NC, everything is back in bloom and this was one of those days it was really tempting to spend all day outdoors. Even driving around in the car with the sunroof open was a joy! I recently had the priviledge of working with Brock Zevan for my home buying experience.  I chose Brock as my realtor based on his solid reputation.  I can say with all sincerity that he went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure my transition into the new home was a smooth one.    Brock's professionalism, along with his ability to relate to the customer, are unmatched.  I was able to build a strong relationship with him based on the fact that he genuinely cared about my needs and wants through the whole process.  His people-skills and industry knowledge make him such an incredible asset.  I always appreciated his honesty, too- even if it was something I didn't want to necessarily hear.    Brock was selfless in his efforts, and relieved a great deal of stress for me when it came t...
