I love having clients this time of year buying or selling their home here in Eastern NC. The holidays tend to be a bit slower and I often correlate that with the time change. I also think homes tend to be decorated and personalized a bit more this time of year as well.....but, I also know the competition is low this time of year. This to me is a great time to sell..or buy. For sellers the buyers that come through are more serious and you have less competition meaning your odds for a sale is increased. For buyers you will find that the motivated sellers are on the market. Prices may be more appealing and sellers are seeing less activity so your visit is important to them. If you are looking to buy or sell , I would love the opportunity to show you what the market offers and how to negotia...

10-9-16 @ 10 amHistory is possibly preparing to repeat itself here in Greenville NC. #hurricaneMatthew #NCFlooding #GreenvilleNCStrongBack in 1999 when Eastern NC was hit with Hurricane Floyd ( and Dennis just prior) -"The Flood of The Century ". The water was also documented as a 500 yr flood level in some parts of our region.  I was living here during that time and experienced it first hand to understand the urgency and threat it posed as the Tar River crested and flooded alot of Eastern NC.  There were 35 deaths, and it left thousands without a home here in Pitt County . It took a community to come together to not only lift our spirits but to lend a hand to survive the following two weeks of being without water or power. Hurricane Matthew 2016 passed our coast yesterday and all of l...

photo Michele Connors  This is the Greene Street bridge. This beauty was once an actual 200' bridge carrying traffic over the Tar River at Greene Street. The bridge was built in 1927. In 2002, it was carefuly disassembled and moved nearby to the Greenville NC Town Commons. The re-assembly of this Parker Truss Bridge was completed in 2005 by way of NCDOT Enhancement Grants and Greenville NC funds.  There is parking at the south end and is the access to the greenway path that runs along the Tar River for pedestrian and bike use. Most days you will find joggers, dog walkers, bikes and strollers. It is a scenic path and meets up with the Ash Street "Off Leash Dog Park ".  Greenville is a rising star in the state of North Carolina. There are multiple projects underway to provide economic gro...

I am writing this as a bulletin for incoming students this week coming off their holiday break and starting a new semester. East Carolina University has set a ban for Hoverboards.  "ECU officials say the hoverboards are banned from all residence halls, dining halls, the Mendenhall Student Center, the Student Rec Center and on all ECU Transit buses."                                                                WITN News   Additionally  there has been a National concern for use and storage of these on public transit, hotels and apartment buildings with fear of fire. There are warnings about chargers and batteries. This is to me a large scale item unlike a phone or laptop improperly stored while charging. ( Ive seen pillows burned from kids falling asleep with phone charging in their bed...

Today I want to shout out to the awesome service this area provides with UPS, FedEx and USPS this time of year. Greenville NC / Pitt County NC Typically it is a much colder month but for some reason this week we have had rain and warm weather ( 65-70 ).  With a busy schedule I have done most of my shopping online. My deliveries have been carefully placed in discreet locations and out of the rain. These men and women have long hours and deadlines. They are out late and up early. I just wanted to send a huge Thank You to them for excellent service all the while with a smile on their face.  They are away from their families and their extra work this time of year does not go unnoticed. If you see a delivery person this week, try to take just a second to Thank them with a nod, a smile or a k...

This Tasty Tuesday I am visiting Bateeni for the first time....   Bateeni Medeterranean Grill & Cafe is located @Arlington Crossing, 1868 W Arlington Blvd Greenville, NC  27858 252 689-6222DIRECTIONS  This was a clean cafe with a very friendly staff. The music was low and at noon the tables were mostly taken on this rainy day.My daughter and I had the Hummus ( small) Appetizer and it was plenty for two. We both opted for the Gyro and when it was delivered it was hot and very fresh.  As I looked around at the other tables I saw fresh tabbolah salads, falafel sandwiches and baba ghanouj. The waitress was prompt to refill our teas and deliver the check.     I may have just found my new favorite lunch spot !!!  Link to Full Menu  As a local Realtor, commercial and residential, I like to exp...

Bridge over Pond Ironwood #4 with fog before sunrise..    Ironwood is located off 43N in Greenville NC and offers a wonderful Trevino course that is able to challenge all levels of experience.     As a homeowner, and a local Realtor...I enjoy sharing news about Ironwood and the community amenities. It goes beyond the club in my opinion. There is a wonderful diverse mix of homes from patio style to larger estates and members of all ages to make this an inviting community. As an empty nester with two grown children it is ideal as we have the ability to socialize at the club house, get in 9 holes late afternoons and meet up with neighbors for couples golf. In the summer my kids enjoy ordering lunch at the pool and relaxing for a few hours with their mom !The streets are lined with sidewalk...

According to Marcie Geffner, a freelance writer who covers mortgages and banking for Bankrate.com, Realtors and mortgage brokers love boomerang buyers. That’s because boomerang buyers, also known as rebound buyers, are folks who lost a home to foreclosure, and are now ready to buy again.Realtors and brokers are fond of them because they are very motivated, they know the ropes, they really know what home ownership is about, and they have already been through a tough time. Here are some things boomerang buyers need to know. Make A Plan: Start the process early. It might take a year to prepare. It might take two years. So, get in front of a professional and find out what it takes to buy another home under your circumstances. Wait It Out: Waiting periods before you can buy again are very co...
