Fishing Tournament at Bogue Inlet Pier - Emerald Isle North Carolina. Monday October 5th through Saturday October 10th is the King Mackrel Fishing Tournament at the Bogue Inlet Fishing Pier. There are 36 participant slots available in this annual tournament, but don't count on showing up tomorrow to secure a slot. Slots are highly sought after and every year they have more tournament applications than slots so they hold a lottery for the 36 available slots. This year's lottery was held in late September. You are welcome to watch this year's anglers, but you will have to wait for next year to enter and don't forget to enter early. Emerald Isle schools are of great importance to families moving to the area and all are happy to hear there is good news. In fact just last year Croatan High School won a Silver Award from the US News & World Report in December of 2008. I have clients who are in the military and this is always one of the first questions they ask: What are the Emerald Isle Schools like? This has not been a issue for buyers loosing for a second home or for buyers looking to find a home for sale in Emerald Isle that will be a great investment property. Safety is an issue for buyers moving to the area. Safety in the schools and in general. Crime is low to virtually non-existent in Emerald Isle. The schools rank high on safety. That is not to say they don't have problems, like all schools they have issues, ...

Emerald Isle North Carolina weather is mild yet there are four seasons of beauty. Living on the North Carolina Crystal Coast brings warmer breezes in the fall and winter and cooling breezes in the summer. This is to the liking of the residents as well as the two million plus visitors to our coast each year. I've had clients call me and say I want to come look at houses in January. Can you recommend a place to stay? What will the weather be like in Emerald Isle North Carolina in January? My response to that is we have weeks in January when the temperatures are in the 70s with crisp skies and cool mornings and we have weeks in January with temperatures in the 50s. So don't pack your clothes too soon or just pack for both temperatures. It can range from mid 40s to high 70s so be prepared....
