Here in Carova, NC the tides are an important part of our daily life. For most coastal communities along the Outer Banks knowing the tides is helpful for people boating or fishing, here it is important for driving. Since just getting to the pavement can be a 3 to 11 mile dirve on the beach itself, it can be very advantageous to know when low tide is so you can drive on the smooth hard packed sand rather than the dry sugar sand that Carova is well known for. So as a Public Service, I will be posting the tides weekly each Sunday.  Unfortunately, home prices in Whalehead are still on the decline. Both the median and average home prices declined fro 2014 to 2015. The good news is the increase in the amount of sales activity. The number of homes sold jumped from 30 in 2014 to 43 homes in 2015, an increase of 42%. It won't take long for this kind of sales activity to create a demand which in turn results in price increase.
