It's been talked about and then gone through the planning process for over a decade.  Now the wheels are in motion. Improvements on the most critical corridor through Cornelius have begun. If you have driven down West Catawba Avenue lately you might have noticed quite a bit of utility work going on. The poles are coming down and the utilities are being buried. From I-77 to Jetton Road the complete project will include a four lane road widening divided by a center median and a number center median cut's to allow muliti-directional traffic flow.
