In my neighborhood of Lewisville in the East End of Moncton, I live in within sight of the Arnold H McLeod Elementary School, part of the English School District 2. The school was constructed in 1981-82 and opened it's doors in September of 1982 and replaced several smaller schools including Wynwood, Valleyview, Sunnyside and Harrisville Schools. Beginning with grades one to six, today the school covers kindergarten to grade four. Welcome to my neighbourhood, the Lewisville area of Moncton. Lewisville was a village with it's own mayor and council until it was amalgamated into Moncton in the sixties. In the early days it was known as Creek Village. I've lived in the Valleyview Subdivision in Lewisville for over six years. The houses in Lewisville range in ages from very old to newly constructed, and there is still lots of room for new homes. The residents are a mixture of Anglophones and Francophones. The neighbourhood offers elementary schools in either official language. The Lewisville area offers quick and easy access to Trans Canada Highway, the Irishtown Nature Park, the Caledonia Industrial Park, the Université de Moncton, Downtown Moncton and the Champlain Place shopping area.
