As I grow the popularity of this site I gain position on the Internet. As that sight gets more active it boosts the rating of the sites it links to. One site can't do it all! I took my Grandson Cody to the farm this weekend I figured we would scout for some turkeys for the upcoming season. We got rained out pretty hard and decided to go to town to get some food. On the way back we saw an auction sign, now I love a good farm auction and I convinced him it might be fun... The auction was just outside of Rich Hill, MO. Rich Hill has a thriving Amish community nearby and there were many Amish folks there. This was one huge auction, they had three auctioneers going at the same time! But what we found most fascinating was seeing horses making Ice Cream. We were so intrigued we actually bought some and it turned out to be pretty good. Word on the street is that the Butler, MO Wal-Mart Supercenter is on hold. My sources tell me that there is one lone holdout who will not relinquish land required to build the Super Center. Butler, Mo is a town of just over 4,000 located in Bates County, MO. The local Wal-mart store is running at full capacity. Busy providing products and services to the local residents, the Butler Wal-Mart is a bustling center of commerce. While the new Super Center will possibly cause other local merchants to have to be more competitive, Wal-Mart provides many products that small town merchants just can't provide economically. The addition of a grocery store would certainly prove challenging for local stores like Country Mart, but competition always makes the market stronger, and more competitive. The... 08/15/2008
