Do not miss the open house this Friday at Wines of Wildwood in Dierberg's Town Center off Taylor Road in lovely Wildwood, Missouri.  For a measly $10 a person, you can sample 20 of the finest wines available.  In addition to the wine tasting, you have the opportunity to sample the creations of Chesterfield's Whipt Cream Bakery.  This is usually one of the best attended open houses, so come early.  It is a fabulously fun time for everyone.  Yes, I am planning on being there.  I have not missed it since I "found" this great little shop. Yesterday, I happened upon a great secret in Wildwood, Missouri:  One Lucky Mutt.  This is a healthy pet food market and self-serve dog wash.  The store carries many great items including leashes, collars, pet spa items, shampoos, conditioners, beds, toys and bowls to name a few.  They have everything to help your pet feel like a true star.  What really caught my eye was the self-serve dog wash.  As I spoke to Tracy, the owner, she told me about her unique service.  It is only $15 and they provide everything except the pooch.  The cost includes a choice of their 7 available shampoos in a wide array of scents.  Also included are all the tools for doing a professional grooming:  brushes, nail clippers, scissors, "hair" clippers and rakes.  Top this off with as many towels as you need and ... 11/08/2008

As Halloween approaches, it is good to note, it does not need to be scary.  At our Kid's Safety Day in Wildwood, our scarecrow was friendly and happy to help those needing pumpkins.  The whole day was gorgeous and well attended.  Next year we hope to have even more fun and more children in attendance. Have you ever had one of those days where it seemed like you spent most of the day chasing your tail?  I spent the bulk of my day trying to find a gift certificate from a fund raiser I attended last year.  It is one of those certificates I knew was going to expire soon, so I continued to search and search.  And of course, the last place I looked for it...there it was.  ;-) I have to say, I found many interesting items during this quest for a small piece of paper in a plain white envelope.  I found a couple of cards I meant to mail, a report I needed to read, a couple of twenties and a few other items.  Was this a blatant waste of time?  Or the "age issues" catching up with me?  Or do I need a little more balance in my life and not so much PAPER?!? Breaking news:  Wildwood, Missouri City Hall regrettably announces the cancellation of the Wildwood Days Celebration.   The city made the decision to cancel the event due to the rain and field conditions.  Babler State Park officials felt the ground was too saturated to allow the event. Summer is officially here and the vacation driving season is on us.  Being a Realtor, any extra mileage I can squeeze out of gallon of gas helpls my bottom line.  I have put together a list of 10 things to do to improve your mileage for those of us who forget. 10 Ways to Improve Mileage:  1. Have a complete check up.   For safety and fuel economy, you should give your car a good check up before taking a trip. 2. Change your oil regularly.  Dirty motor oil can impair your engine's performance cutting down on good gas mileage. 3. Make sure your tire pressure is correct.    Keep your tires at the recommended pressure.  Lower tire pressure can cause drag on the vehicle's performance.4.
