Springfield Annual Christmas Parade | December's Season of Celebrations & Sharing   I love parades and this year we are fortunate to be able to attend several.  Tomorrow is Springfield's annual Christmas parade in downtown Springfield Missouri.  Part of December's season of celebrations & sharing.   The parade starts at Mt Vernon and South Avenue, then continues north on South Avenue to the Springfield Square, then back down to College Street east to Kimborough, then north (by the Shrine Mosque) to Memorial Plaza, east to the end in front of Jordan Valley Park.   This year there will be over 60 floats and 10 marching bands, with the theme being "Rockin Around The Square".  Of course Santa Clause will be there as well.  While you're there, stop by and see the newly renovated Springfield ... 12/09/2011

Today is the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. On December 7, 1941, the Imperial Japanese Navy launched a surprise attack on the Hawaiian U.S. naval base that would forever change the course of history. Instead of crippling the US, it brought us together to win the war. To quote Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, "I fear all we have done is awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve." The next day we declared war on Japan and three days later on Germany. Thank you to all of our Veterans and patriots that rose up to defend America. Nearly 26,000 canned food items were collected at the Wehrenberg Theater for the annual Cans Film Festival yesterday. Guests who brought in at least 5 cans of food, before 5:00 pm, received a free movie ticket. Those who brought 10 cans received a ticket for a future movie. Volunteers with the Salvation Army worked long hours sorting out the can goods. They will be continuing the sorting on Monday and more volunteers are needed. The Salvation Army anticipates serving about 1000 families during the Christmas season. This is a great food drive to help those less fortunate with food needs. Its wonderful to see the smile on their face.  12/04/2011

Finally settling down to write about Friday Day 2 for our December Challenge. I was up early to compile sales numbers for my November Market Reports.  I had 12 to do.    I now have them finished so I can get them input into my computer and posted. I also followed up with a Buyer that looked like she needed to wait to buy.  After she talked with one of my reputable lenders, it looks as though we might be able to have a pre-appoval letter by Monday! 12/03/2011

Springfield Missouri Real Estate Market Statistics November 2011 There are currently 1490 homes for sale in Springfield MO. The best selling price range for November was $50,000 to $99,000. This is also the price range with the most current listings. Values above 26 weeks supply indicate a buyers market while below 26 weeks indicate a sellers market. Higher priced homes are selling slower in this market. Note that this month there was only 1 home that sold above $400,000 and 98 are for sale.
