Home Prices in Springfield MO for December 2013 Real estate market data for Springfield, MO provided by Betty Knowles of Coldwell Banker Vanguard.   Springfield Home Prices   We have seen several months of listing price increases on home prices in Springfield and expect moderate increases in 2014.  If you are considering buying a home you can still find deals on a house in Springfield but having a good real estate agent who understands the market is important.  Don’t wait on the sidelines for too long, many of our listings are starting to sell within a few days of hitting the market. Does it make sense to list my home for sale in Springfield MO in December? With Thanksgiving over and Christmas not far away, should you list your home for sale in the Ozarks during this time of the year? You may be surprised to find out the answer is YES!  Here's why:The myth is that homes don't sell as well during the winter. This is no longer true.  In The Greater Springfield area, 438 homes SOLD in December 2012 and a further 387 SOLD in January 2013.Another reason now is a good time to sell a home is because of all the job re-locations. So I make my living as a real estate agent by day, well by night also.  I have had several clients this last week ask me my thoughts on stores being open on Thanksgiving evening. So here is the disclaimer for the rest you STOP reading if you do not agree with the stores being open. I have a large family and I love spending time with them. I would consider myself to be a “traditional” family person. Every Thanksgiving, well every holiday, we spend together.  However, there was a day that I worked at the local hospital and worked on holidays. Christmas Eve. Worked! Christmas Day. Worked! And the list goes on. Did I enjoy it? Absolutely not but I worked to help provide for my family and that was just part of the job requirement. We, as a family, made it a point to spend time together befor...

Selling your home in the Ozarks during the holiday season. One may ask, “Why in the world would I want my home to be on the market during the holiday season?” My answer would be simply....Supply and Demand! There are a lot of reasons of course but the most important reason is that buyers that are searching for homes during the holiday season are serious buyers! That means, they are not “window shopping”, they are wanting to move and will be buying a home. The inventory on homes for sale is typically lower during this time, so your home is not in competition with as many other homes on the market as in the spring and summer. Keep in mind, most families love to decorate their home for the holiday season. Families are planning for dinners and get together with friends and family and co-wor...

I have lived in Springfield Missouri for several years and love what it has to offer.  Springfield  has rich history that many people do no know. For instance during the wild west era  Wild Bill Hickock had a shoot out in the city square in 1865 resulting in multiple injuries.  It is also known as the birthplace of the famous Route 66.  Today Route 66 stretches from the Great Lakes to the Pacific.  Most notably the Springfield area is recognized for its outdoor activities.  The birth place of the famous Bass Pro Shops containing anything and everything associated with outdoors.  Hunting is one of the main attractions in the Springfield area.  Turkey, water fowl and deer are highly sought trophies.  Typically most of this hunting occurs in the winter where winters can range from mild to ...
