The Wave of the Future in Banking was quite a shock to me when I entered the new credit union in my area.  I walked in and filled out my deposit/withdrawal slip then I walked over to the information desk to ask, Where do I go now?  Look closely at the photo:  There were no tellers to be found.  A small screen with a person was the only thing at the kiosk.  It was like something out of the Jetsons.  Of course, my daughter had no idea what I was talking about but none the less, it was strange.  The person on the screen said the credit union set up the lobby this way to protect the tellers from robberies.  I could see the point but what a shock to me.
