Branson, MO Real Estate News

According to my local MLS, Branson single family homes sales last month total was 14 homes sold.  The highest priced one sold for $169,000 and the lowest priced one sold for $25,000 with a median price of $110,000.  That is 3 more homes than the previous month's sales total (yahoo!) but the lower median price keeps it from being all good news.  Condo sales were also down with only 2 closing escrow last month.  The highest one sold for $64,500 and the lowest sold for $62,900.  They also had a lower median price of $63,700, so no real good news for condo sellers last month.   Market information for land, farms, and mobile-home sales as well as other local information is available by request.  Real estate is always local and there is no problem getting financing for good buyers and a fair ...

Coming in May 2010 the Branson area will once again be home to an outdoor amphitheater. The Black Oak Mountain Amphitheater will reopen in Lampe, which is located in Stone County, southwest of Branson. The attraction originally opened back in 1983, but had since closed. Recently renovated, the outdoor theater will be ready for the first show on May 30, 2010, according to the amphitheater's web site. The first performance will feature artists John Michael Montgomery and Lee Greenwood.   Tickets and more information can be obtained by visiting their web site.

I don't think these guys are used to getting their picture taken while fishing, but I always thought men fishing make great photographs!   The White River which is now known as Lake Taneycomo is a favorite spot for fishing brown trout and rainbow trout. The clear cold waters of Taneycomo provide the perfect habitat staying a constant 58 degrees even in summer. Many state records have been achieved here on this lake. The cold temperature of the lake is because the bottom water of Table Rock never sees the sun and stays cold. When the water runs through the power generators it feeds Lake Taneycomo with cold water starting at the dam at only 48 degrees where you will see most fishermen (and women) fly fishing for trout.  Lake front homes along the Taneycomo are also popular and there are ...

I previewed this home yesterday and also showed it later in the afternoon. It is a new foreclosed home in Cozy Cove, which is a gated community just minutes from Branson Schools and Wal-Mart. There' also a pool here and as you can see hopefully in this picture lake frontage behind. It had alot of cottage charm on the inside, with dark hard wood floors, granite counters and vintage style doors and glass door knobs. Very cute for the money at $259,560.      For more information on foreclosed properties in the Ozarks, please contact me for a FREE updated list.

The Ozarks Regions has unsurpassed, unique, special beauty that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Usually described as Mountains, the Ozarks actually consist of many different types of terrain; hills and hollows, forests and meadows, bluffs and valleys.   This legendary beauty is presented in the gently rolling hillsides, mysterious caves, and clear lakes and streams. In the spring, the hills come to life with the blooms of redbud and dogwood trees. Wildflowers sprinkle the hills and also can be seen along the highways and secondary roads that wind slowly through the hills. Summers are filled with rich, green colors of dense forests. Oak trees are predominant; however, a variety of other hardwoods intermingled with cedar and pine trees share the forests. Fall is a burst of re...

Predominent Tex-Mex style Mexican food has such a strong influence on Ozarkians tastes for Mexican Food that I feel it is necessary to promote my new friend Alex's Taco and Burrito business in Branson.  He has only been open for a few months and already is seeing more and more people are finding out about them by word of mouth.  Even though that is the best type of advertising there is, other media as my blog could help too.  No, it is not selfless on my part, you see I LOVE the Baja Style of food and spices that you can only find here in SW Missouri, that I know of, that is.  I have tried the burritos, tacos (including fish), and the Plate Special and can tell you, it is better than I could have ever hoped I would find in SW Missouri.  I do not want to lose this source of good food tha...

Lake Taneycomo is located in the Ozark Mountains of Missouri, between Table Rock Lake and Bull Shoals Lake. Formed in 1913 with the completion of Powersite Dam, Lake Taneycomo stretches from Table Rock Dam to Powersite Dam and passes through the towns of Hollister, Branson, Powersite, Rockaway Beach, and Forsyth. Because Lake Taneycomo's water comes from the bottom of Table Rock Dam, it is a cold water lake with an average temperature of 58 degrees. These cool waters are stocked annually with rainbow trout and many consider it a world-class place to fish.  The origin of the name of Lake Taneycomo is interesting. The word TANEY is the name of the county, CO stands for county, and MO for Missouri. Put it all together and you get Taneycomo. Along the shores are resorts, campgrounds, RV par...

According to Taney County Commissioner Jim Strafuss, there’s a possibility Taney County could receive a multi-million dollar, federal grant to help finance a road to connect Hollister and Kirbyville. In September of 2009, Taney County submitted a grant application to the U.S. Department of Transportation. This grant targets large construction projects with cost between $20-$300 million. However, Strafuss said the review committee is focusing on smaller projects, in the $20-$30 million range. Taney County applied for $20 million. In April of 2009, voters decided against a sales tax that would have funded the connecting highway. Officials hope to receive news on the grant this month.

These photos were taken by my partner, Beckie Boedefeld. When she's not selling real estate, you'll often find her out hiking with her husband, Chris.                      Even winter is beautiful in the Branson area! These photos were taken in Ridgedale, MO.
